"Is it dog-eared and battered
It's not torn beyond repair
One more journey on the water
Don't let your heart despair
I'll be waiting for you there"
What a chorus! That one will stick with you, indeed. Great vocals and a really cool supportive arrangement. The percussion is perfect. The ethereal sound of the harmonies really fit with the entire vibe. Great job all the way around!!

I hope you all don't mind instead of responding to each of you who've commented since Bob has already done that and it's been a long work day for me that I just type this to thank you all very much for your comments. I appreciate all of you very much.
Bob was so sweet in giving me card blanche with his cool original lyrics and BB file on this song. I just loved the pictures he painted in this. So after a little rearranging of verses tweaking the overall arrangement and then a little rewriting of the chorus, I was really glad he related to the changes and we were on the same page. The harmonies were playing in my head so it was fun to finally hear them with his final vocal which he sang so beautifully. It was also nice to find a mandolin RT that played off the bongos really nice with a just a little editing. It was kept purposely simple instrument wise to stay true to the underlying folk vibe. Bob choosing the ethereal sound when he did the final mix added an air of freshness I thought was a nice touch.
It was a fun collab after not doing one together for a while. We'd been planning on doing a new one for some time.
Oh yeah, no pitch correction, no harmonizers - (not that there's anything wrong with that) - this one - true to the genre - is all us. <grin>
Thank each of you again for all of the positive feedback, Bob and I appreciate it very much.
Josie
Nicely done Bob, very enjoyable all around.
Mike B.
Bob and Josie,
Nice. I really like the song. Bob, one of the things I really like about your lyrics is I don't think I've ever seen (heard) you use a cliché line - they are always so fresh and so original and so packed with images. These flow like the river you are crossing...
The production presents the song perfectly. Good mix.
The vocals are wonderful. Bob, one of your best vocals, I think - a lot of heart. Josie, your harmonies are delightful.
A great listen, guys!
floyd

Bob
You ever have that reaction to something, you love it, but you don't quite know how to say that?
What a wonderful display of song-craft. The vocal performances are poetic too.
Floyd,
Thank you - we really appreciate that!
Bob
Thank you Scott what a nice thing to say. We appreciate it.

Hello Bob,
We like the song, especially the harmonies.
We were wondering about the percussion used in your song, are these also realtracks? If so, which one did you use?
Regards,
R & AM
I love the percussion in this one. Super excellent recording, the vocals sound great. Nice write and collab for sure. You all make a mighty fine team. Well done. Nice job in selecting the instrumentation, too -- the mando sounded just right for this tune.
Rob and Anne-Marie,
Thank you. Bob and I appreciate it.
You'll find the percussion in BossaRockPerc.
Josie
Hey Kevin,
