And what if she turned up again???

[Link no longer valid]

And now, after a while
the flame has gone
but still it's ready to start a fire
the pilot 's on,
he knows so well
The moment she will turn up
everything starts again
he can't control the man

It starts with hello
And as they go on
being friendly polite he knows
He 's fooling them both
Coz if he could
He' d be all over her now
Hoping he could redeem
A love that was not to be
He will relive a dream

Out of the blue
he's out of line
She is heaven and hell in seconds time
And he doesn't mind

And now, after a while
the flame has gone
but still it's ready to start a fire
The pilot' s on
the time will come
that moment she will turn up
and everything starts again
He can’t control the man
One day they'll meet and then...

Out of the blue
he's out of line
She is heaven and hell in seconds time
And he doesn't mind

Hey, Fred, GREAT tune!
I also really like the way it builds. I really dig your vocal stylin's, I love the way you, for example, hold the note of "mind" over the chord change(s). I like the overdriving guitar giving energy as the song builds.

A couple of very little things: if it was me, I'd want to tone way down the "-uh" heard after the "well" (of "he knows so well"), and maybe one or two additional instances -none of them glaring, mind you- of what I might call a "proximity effect" occurring in the vocals microphone, if I were trying to pretend I knew what I was talking about. All I know is that I hear it, and how I'm responding to it.

But yeah...VERY NICE, man! Solid poetry! Thanks for sharing! -Eric

Fred,

Really nice job. I love the melody on the chorus and the way it builds. I might of brought the band in on the first chorus... but that's just me. wink

Fred,

BRAVO!!!

Spectacular. Nice choice of piano. Perfect for that chord changes and the melody. Great idea to go with the MIDI Supertrack... The Hi-Q piano sounds terrific.

Your vocal is very nicely recorded - and VERY well sung!!! - and nicely balanced with the piano...

Your chorus gave me chills. M U S I C A L. It SINGS!!!

What a brilliant production! Don't know if you added that cymbal crash or it just "happened"... but it was PERFECT. (good drum sound!). The guitar solo is a nice addition...

I ENJOYED listening to this. BRAVO.

Rob and Anne-Marie,
Thanks for passing by and commenting. Having worked with BIAB for two months now, I'm having lots of fun, but I still am in a studying phase. Hoping to learn in listening to others while testing the flexibility of this great tool.
Hope to produce many more.

Hi Eric,
Thanks for passing by and commenting. You're right off course on the proximity effects. Normally I do three or four vocal takes, and then start putting the lead vocal together. Here I kept take four as a whole. I was so happy with the energy of it that I just put it in there.
I consider my productions as studies, and your comments really help! Thanks and see you around!

Hi Guenter,
Thanks for passing by and listening. I have great plans for "The Ladies". However, I'm having some issues with the software, Realivox' support desk did not respond to my questions...

Hi Fred,

I liked this a LOT! I love the opening piano, the lyrics, the cymbal Floyd mentioned.. the chord pattern is unique and really rousing.

After listening to it a bunch of times trying to wrap my brain around it, the thought occurred to me that this sounds like an 80s production to me... but it's under-produced for that genre. Your mix would be perfect for just about any other genre, but I found myself wishing for that highly processed 80s mix just dripping with reverb and synthesizers, especially as you ramped things up in the ending.

Having said that, it still sounded great with no changes at all... my comment is purely based on personal preference. This would be a great song for a remix contest because it has all the elements of a winner, and people could have fun picking just about any combination of tracks to run with on their own remix.

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this song exceeded my expectations by quite a bit! Good job, and I look forward to hearing more from you!

Fred,

I enjoyed listening to the song and the progression was interesting as well as the melody. I do have to agree with Greg (Achordcaster) in that as far as an arrangement goes, I think the performance would have been even stronger if there had been a slight build in the second verse compared to the first verse; maybe a simple drum and bass feel before you really kill it in the second chorus. But I did like your arrangement overall and the creativity you put into it.

And your singing is great! Major entertaining.

Hi Floyd,
Thanks for your encouraging words. It means a lot to me!
The idea to produce this piano-song came of your "Hold on". This song seemed perfect to develop this way. I did edit the midi track by BIAB to support the vocals a little bit.
This was a great study for me, not being a piano player at all, thanks to BIAB, (and with a lot of patience) the piano can carry a song! Still have a lot to learn though...

The symbal crash fell right in place, didn't have to do much there smile

I do hope te evolve with every production. Thanks for listening and your comments!

Hi Pat,
Once again you analysed this song spot on!
The idea of this song was conseived in 1986. I never did anything with it, untill Floyd came up with "Hold on" I developed the song the last three weeks.
Now about that remix idea of yours... Why not? It would be great to see how someone else would mix, or even completely transform this one. So I'll be happy to share my BIAB, Reaper and Wav files with anyone who wants to have a go with the song! Anyone interested Just send a PM???

So spread the word smile smile smile

Thanks for your encouraging words, Pat!

Fred,

This is a most interesting song to listen to. You have created a unique chord progression that compliments the lyrics.

A small complaint: I do wish the lyrics posted on SoundCloud matched the recording as the posted lyrics are out of sequence with the recording.

I'm very impressed with the song's arrangement and production. The recording is interesting throughout and has a nice sound.

Hi Alyn,
Thanks for having a listen and commenting.
About the chord change, I hear a melody in my head and then go searching the chords. My guitar teacher said it was unusual indeed to go three chords from C into the Cm scale. Good ear ☺
See you around

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your kind comments. See my reaction to Alyn about the chords.
About SC... I was not aware that the lyrics should synchronise with the song, I will look into it...
