Hi all.
I wrote this for a metal detecting site on Youtube.
If the words don't make sense that's why.

Shadow Dummy

Please advise on the quality of the vocals. Most of you know I have been trying to improve
the quality.
All advice welcome. Rob

Shadow Dummy

You are always standing by as the sun beats on the ground.
Nothing to say you never make a sound. Oh no no
When the clouds abound you run away never a site to bee seen.
Now and then I catch you in my dreams.

You come around at midnight when the moon is full.
Just standing there to steal my every move.
Though you dont talk about me dont mean no dog gone thing
Shadow dummy watch my every move.

Tho people say I walk on you, you know it is not true.
You copy every little thing I do
You know I never say good by till Im beneath the clay.
I know that youl be sorry on that day

You come around at midnight when the moon is full.
Just standing there to steal my every move.
Though you dont talk about me dont mean no dog gone thing
Shadow dummy watch my every move.

Nice harmonies - got an Elvis vibe going - vocals suited well to the song and hard to criticize.
Overall a very good rockabilly song (with interesting lyrics!).

Cooloola cove produces some cooloola music.
Vocals are perfect for this song.

You are the Aussie version of Shakin Stevens and I imagined you dancing like he does whilst singing this song laugh

A good way to blast my way into the day.

keep 'em coming!

I think your vocals suit the song quite well. You captured the genre very authentically with the backing tracks, and convey the image of a jukebox playing somewhere in a bar late one evening with lots of people having a good time.

A clever and fun song!! Really nice, natural feel to the vocals, and very complimentary arrangement. Nice job on this! Take care. Greg

I've enjoyed watching many of your metal detecting videos on YouTube. I have an inexpensive one that can only find nails, bottle caps and lost bolts. Been thinking about getting another, higher quality such as a top line White. Poor experience with the cheap models have failed to motivate me to make the jump so far. It's your videos that motivate me so far.

Regarding the song. First rate write, performance and production. Your vocals have always been good. It seems your recording chops are improving. For me, this is a top quality recording.

Plus two here!!! Cool bouncy rockabilly.
The vocal sounds great and so does the mix.

BTW, Janice and spent two decades
detecting Revolutionary and Civil War sites.
Got quite collection.

Started with a Heath Kit I built in 1969 and
have used about everything on the market
since. Pretty much stuck with Fisher for
the last few years.

I like the vocal Rob. Wish I could sing that well.

What kind of Metal Detectors do you use down under?

I knew Charlie Garrett pretty well. I was involved in the publishing of the Electronic Metal Detector Handbook by Rocky LeGay who was a friend of mine.

I always wanted to go look for gold nuggets down in you part of the world.

Cheers,

Billy
