A guy came by my house today and said his name was Jimmy Waits and that he was Tom Waits' cousin. I did not believe him but I let him sing my new song.

Sunday Morning Blues
by David Snyder

V1

I’ve walked so many miles
In other people’s shoes
It’s no wonder that I’ve got
The Sunday morning blues
The preacher doesn’t understand
How much we’ve paid our dues
I wish that I could get
Just a little more good news
I wish that I could get
Just a little more good news
But all that I am singing
Is the Sunday morning Blues

CH:

Sunday morning blues
Spreading round my town
What was supposed to bring me up
Only brings me down
Hey Mister Preacher man
Can’t you see my busted shoes?
Can’t you tell that I’ve got
The Sunday morning blues

V2

Well I know that I’m a sinner
But I know I ain’t no liar
And I know that I ain’t bound for
No holy hell or fire
Oh I wish that I could get
Just a little more good news
But all that I am singing
Is the Sunday morning Blues

CH:

Sunday morning blues
Spreading round my town
What was supposed to bring me up
Only brings me down
Hey Mister Preacher
Can’t you see my busted shoes?
Can’t you tell I’ve got
The Sunday morning blues

David, you are one interesting talented individual. I enjoyed this one quite a bit! You can go so many different directions musically I can't keep up. Take care, Torrey
Hello, David

I think Jimmy certainly was Tom Waits' cousin.
Very pleasant jazz waltz!
As Torrey said, you are one interesting talented individual.
I enjoyed this one quite a bit!

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi
Well done Jimmy... I enjoyed this one immensely.

I'd love to hear a duet with Jimmy and David. smile

Bob
Certainly sounds like Tom! Nice one, David, enjoyed the listen!
Nice one. Enjoyed my listen.

Charlie
I know this guy, he also claims to be the grandson of Louis Armstrong!

cool song, nice overall sound

Kenny
OUTSTANDING.

Pure Entertainment.

The selected style was perfect. Excellent mix.

"Jimmy's" vocal is astounding! Made MY throat hurt.
(Can't believe "he" kept that up for the whole song!)

Excellent write. Captured the "Looking For The Heart Of Saturday Night" era PERFECTLY (Tom at his best imo).

You impress me more and more and more...

(there must be an tray of empty Heinekens on the piano)

David, I enjoyed my listen. It made me think of a Shetland pony - a little horse. Ouch! I hope your regular voice returned after the effort you put in to this one. You never know where you'll take us. Good job, Tom
Thank you Torrey! I have been enjoying your latest work immensely so I take that as quite a compliment.

smile
Shigeki,

Thanks! I am really glad you enjoyed it. I thought your last one was gorgeous. I guess you saw the post.

smile
Thanks Bob! Maybe I will ask those two if they will agree to do that,

smile
Thanks Dave!!
Thanks Charlie!!!
Yeah I know man. He was claiming multiple identities.

Who would do such a thing?

My friend Tater Totts is very confused.

smile

Thanks for the listen!
Thanks bro.

"I really don't like listening to the radio all that much."

--Tom Waits.
Thanks Tommy! Funny joke! Hope you are feeling better!

Thanks for the listen, I really loved your last tune.

smile
Great three-pack-a-day-habit vocal. LOL David, you kill me. grin

Rob
Thanks Buford,

Yeah I thought it was strange that Floyd mentioned the 12 pack of Heinekens but completely forgot to mention the Fifth of Cutty Sark and the three packs of unfiltered Lucky Strikes.

He must not have spent a lot of time in a blues studio, I guess. Maybe it's different in country. Little Jimmy told me he doesn't go around beer. He said it takes too long.

smile
What a cool Tom Waits impersonation?
This sure shows your talents in different ways.
Cool, and definitely different.

Rob
David

Very clever - really nice backing band. Very well done.

Peter
Super tune David. Guitar was mesmerizing. Heard a little Satchmo peeking out there
floyd beat me to "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy" - T. Waits - Maybe my background in pysch but I always thought that was hilarious.

"Little Jimmy told me he doesn't go around beer. He said it takes too long." HAHAHAHAHA!

We would like to offer our congrats to Tom's cousin. He definitely has a good dose of the DNA and performed very well smile

Saying you never cease to amaze is akin to saying the sun is gonna rise.

So you just sit down and knock off a killer blues tune? Dang!

Cool...

J&B
Love the sparse ensemble and the mix is so smooth.

Tell Jimmy hello for me.
I wonder how Jimmy sounds on a Saturday night? Nice one, David (and friends). Tres louche!
