I enjoyed that! I can't recall having heard you create something in the smooth jazz (poppy) genre before. Very creative! It's a great style.

PS for those of you who are not aware, there a was post by Heartolearn on putting different peoples musical interpretation on the same lyrics. This is why you see two completely versions of these lyrics on this forum. Anyone else is most welcome to join in!

Dang, now two versions I have to wait and listen to.....

Will be recording vocals on Monday (Day off work) for mine. I figure if I record about 200 takes I should be able to comp it down to something that's in tune.

Nice interpretation of Joanne's lyrics. It was quite an interesting project idea and I'm looking forward to other entries to come.

I like to try jazz but tend to use triad chords without extensions which is not very jazzy.

Very cool Richmac!! I actually think this is my favorite vocal of yours. It is really interesting to see the impact different melodies can have with the same lyric. This Christmas, I was thinking how Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is quite a sweet sentiment but the melody definitely gives the song a very melancholy flavor. It is really fascinating. The lyrics always suggest the chord changes to me then the chord changes suggest the melody.
Which I have to modify cause i usually can't sing it.

I'd been away from the forum for several weeks up until a couple of days ago. I see there are several versions of Joanne's terrific lyric. This is the first I've listened to. Very cool! I like the soft yet spirited vibe - a nice contrast that that works with terrific mutual reciprocity. Nice!
