https://soundcloud.com/torrey-bliss/tis-so-sweet-to-trust-in-jesusHere is my arrangement of the old classic public domain hymn. Band In A Box has been invaluable in helping me keep things fresh and exciting in my role as a worship leader. This is an example of how the program helps me survive. I'm still working with the guitar lead sound and the bridge part of the song. Thanks in advance for the listen!

Nice! Love the intro, very cool. Great, jazzy groove happening on this. Mix sounds great through the 'phones.
I always love hearing you play, your guitar work is so tasteful, smooth, and fluid. Pure class!
Going back to give it another spin ...
What Blue Attitude said.
Hoping to hear more in this same vein.
Loved that fresh take on the hymn, Torrey. It was a great listen for this first Sunday of Lent. Thanks.
Torrey,
Love that funky bass and the echo(?) effect on your guitar.
Your soulful vocals and sweet harmonies are unmistakable.
Its cool to hear how your background in pop can remake a hymn in such a fresh awy without losing the sincerity of the lyrics.
Robert
I really love the effects you used on this particular song. You did a great job.
Loved it! Super intro, great chops man and such a sweet tone on that axe of yours! Super message also.
This is a keeper.
Thanks Dave! I appreciate it! T
Torrey,
A cool groove to this. Nice vocals.
Tasty guitar work (though, for my taste, it was a bit too much reverb - others like it, so it just goes to show...). Good mix.
Nice to hear hymns updated like this.

Nice work here, Torrey
The arrangement sound really professional. I'm getting an early 90's vibe on this one. I love the groove on it too. I can imagine this sounding amazing performed live.
Great job, and thanks so much for sharing!
great rendition Torey, you have brought this classic back with a contemporary style. Love it!!
Thanks for listening and commenting Ed! I appreciate it! T
Torrey,
Really cool version of the song! Funky, and gospel!!
Awww, yeah!!!
Torrey, really enjoyed it..I especially liked the 4 bars leading into the break around 2:00...minimal, but effective in letting your track resume it's punch. That's the message I need for Lent!

Robert nailed our feelings with the above. We often find that a new arrangement of a traditional tune requires more time and effort than one that we write. You did an outstanding job of taking this to a new place...had to go and find an original to listen to.
Wonderful interpretation.
J&B
Excellent version, very well performed as usual
great mixing and vocal.

Torrey

Love this hymn, Torrey. And really love what you have done with it. Great job on the vocals. Harmonies are great. Love the transition. Guitar work is spot on as usual. Also a very timely message in this song.

Hello, Torrey
Funky Gospel! Yes it's so funky.
It's a bit quirky but your Gospel style chorus is wonderful.
Your main vocal and guitar play are really nice as usual.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

TIS SO SWEET to hear this version of the song!! I don't know the song but I really love your rendition! Great energetic arrangement, great production and vocal. It all works!! Take care. Greg
Wow! I love the arrangement of this old song. Unexpected, surprising and wonderful. Very good vocals too.
Will
Gave it another listen, today, Torrey. Sounds so good.
I know that also as No Other Name but the Lowly Jesus.
Captivating hymn, that.
(Coming back with an edit 12.31)
Torrey, it sounds like in some places you are making a triplet out of the syllable "Trust." Any thoughts on that? I sounds pretty cool.
Hi Torrey,
This is a wonderful journey. Not only have you written and performed to the highest of standards, your arrangement and production are mesmerising.
You really know your craft!
All the best,
Noel
I always love to hear different takes on public domain songs. This one was a delightful surprise.

Thanks Ed for the nice words! Nothing fancy going on here! I just double tracked the lead vocal with a bit more reverb than usual. Thanks, T
