an original Southern Fried tune, using BIAB, drums, bass, piano. It is a song about when I , CLiff, was growing up and learning to play guitar. My Daddy would get really tired of me asking how to play the wild wood flower, Over and Over. HA. Well as I learned and got older and married, he would come to the house and we would jam some old songs, but, he would always ask me to sing Bobby McGee, always. And I did HA.
He's gone now but lives on in jams for sure.
Well , I had to to write this one for him. Enjoy Cliff

Loved it, a tribute not only to your dad but to some icons of country music. Kris and Hank are two of the greats for sure. Best I've heard from you so far, way to go!
Cool narrative and melody.
The mix leans over to the piano side in several parts though.
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Silvertone guitar with Black Diamond strings! My first guitar was a Silvertone and the only strings you could get back then were Black Diamond.
Really good song, one of your best I think.
Cliff,
An excellent write. Good ol' Country music with a good 'ol Country story...well told.
I agree with the comments - Your best!!
Really enjoyed that.

Good song Cliff! Enjoyed the story the lyrics told very much. Nice tribute!
I really enjoyed how the piano part sat in the mix. The muted guitar on the right side was real good too. A couple of times the 2 guitars kind of sounded like they were conflicting but those moments were very brief.
Keep up the good work and I agree that your songs are getting better!
Wonderful story full of images that both of us can relate to.
As floyd said "good ol' country music."
Enjoyed it!

My first guitar was a Silvertone and the only strings you could get back then were Black Diamond. How well I remember those telephone wires they called guitar strings!
Yep this is how country should sound. I could listen to country music like this all night long.
This brought back many memories.
A lovely memory to share along with the song. The song sounded really fantastic and I think you did a great job. Thanks for sharing!
Cliff,
A great subject for a country song and you make the story details vividly believable.
Listening toyour songs I feel as if I just walked into a living room jam;warm, happy,a little loose and listen out for those ad libs!
A good time was had being invited over.
Robert
Certainly Southern Fried!
I liked the vocals and harmonies.
"I can hammer out the love sick blues". Great line.
Nice work, Cliff! The harmonies are tremendous, and I loved the groove on this one. I can imagine it sounding great live. Some vivid storytelling, and a really compelling performance.
Thanks for sharing
Man I used to hate those Black Diamond strings.....
cool tune
I played most of those songs you named
cliftond,
What a sweet song and nice tribute to your Dad! Clever lyrics and I’m totally digging those harmonies. Really well put together, too. Terrific tune—I enjoyed it a ton!

Deej

Wonderful stylistic blend. So well produced.
Excellent tune brought back a lots of memories. Well done
Hi Cliff,
Classic country framed in an inviting, toe-tapping country swing style always gets my attention. This sounds excellent. Everything in the mix is sitting comfortably in my headphones.
I enjoyed where you took me.
Regards,
Noel
