Greetings,

Here is a link to my new song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y_lRSPCHeo

I used Power Tracks Pro 2020 and created each track myself. For the vocal track, I used Sound Forge Audio Studio slightly just to even out the track. For effects, I used compression, some de-ess, and reverb. All sounds were created using Garritan and IK Multimedia sound libraries.

My singer is Maggie Rose and I recorded her using an Audio Technica AT3035 feeding into a Presonus Firestudio module, which is still firewire based.

Thanks!

Beautiful song, well arranged with nice instrumentation.
Maggie has a lovely voice, I think it could be better appreciated with a few EQ adjustments in the mix.

To my ear there's some mud in the mix around 150 - 175 Hz.I'd try cutting that area first.
Perhaps give a little boost in the upper mids around 2 kHz and maybe even a little lift of air 10 -20 kHz

Nice tune and nice singing. Simple but effective.

Really nice track, well done.

Esp liked:

--the little triplet start of each line; it is kind of a "set-off" from the 4/4 feel of the piece
--the way you built up the arrangement as it went on
--Maggie's voice ++

My only suggestion would be to think about either doubling the vocal or adding vocal harmony as part of the "thickening" of the track..as the instrumentals flesh out, perhaps match that with some vocal width..just an idea.

Thanks for sharing...liked it alot.

Leeky,

Really pretty song and a wonderful vocal by Maggie. You’ve already gotten a few suggestions on how to add a bit more punch to the vocals . . . worth pursuing. As Tano noted, a little thickening of the vocal would really help it pop and stand out more. Very easy on the ears, a pleasure to listen to. Nicely done!

Kind regards,

Deej

Very nicely done. I could imagine this song being in the soundtrack of a popular movie, perhaps a romance or a drama. The vocals by Maggie are excellent. There is a quality of poignancy in the voice that is very appealing.
