You're Not Gone Song about losing parents
I used the _BestiLL.Sty and the following tracks:
Bass 1825
Pedal Steel -- 369
Guitar1 1595
Guitar2 065
Fiddle 085
Good song. GREAT singer! Who was that? Nice remembrance.
That's a talk back radio voice. Lot's of depth and a bit of crack.
Sticking the drums over to the side feels weird but it's a pleasant melody, a comfy narrative and a super polite band.
This is a great, chart worthy song. Well written and fabulous performance. Lyrics and music touch the heart.
THanks everyone--I wrote this for a client that wanted something that sounded like Remember When but about his two parents that died a month apart.
Bob ... I thought I'd commented on this one yesterday. Obviously, I had not. It's a really nicely put-together project. Everything does what it should and more. Perfect vocalist, heart-warming lyric - though poignant, convincing backing tracks and really fine mixing. Really nice! Fits the occasion perfectly.
Best to you. Take care ...
Alan
Nice.
Easing pain is a good thing.

Well done Bob, great vocal and production.
I particularly liked the chord progression.

not my genre...but a highly impressive song with lots of sensitivity, and tasty lyrics.

Thanks for the advice. I will make that change
Hello Bob
This is a very beautiful but of course also sad song
The singing is really great
The melody is very nice to match
Really well done
Hopefully the song helps to process what happened
Many greetings
Andi ;-)
Very nice Bob!! I lost both my parents in the past 5 years or so.....has to be the most painful thing a person can experience, other than losing a child.....that one would kill me. Vocalist is great and arrangement appropriately sweet and sparse. Great stuff!! Take care. Greg
Excellent job - good write, vocals and production.
The short phrases with space between them are especially effective here.
Poignant song, Bob. Really well sung.
Regards,
Leon
I am making a few updates to this-an aspiring country singer picked it up-- maybe something good will happen with it-- thx
Bob,
A good song. Good Country voice.
The BIAB backing is a good vehicle. (The panned right drums is pretty old-school).
Sounds good.

That's a good song. Well written.
That singer is mighty fine. He has a voice that sounds like many of the current crop of guys out of Nashville. Maybe he'll get picked up.
I didn't like how it ended. Kinda left me hanging.... That last chord needs to resolve back to the root. One other thing if this is being pitched..... do something else with the steel. It really doesn't fit like it is. Either lose it totally, and clean up the mix or use volume envelopes and bring it in where it fits rather than letting it drone on in the background as a distraction to an otherwise damn near perfect song. Personally, if this was mine..... I'd replace it with a tasty fiddle and let it come in for a few fills here and there.
Edit: As I was writing, I heard the fiddle..... so.... lose the steels and let the fiddle do a couple of tasty fills and bring it up in volume.
Loved this song
thanks for the feedback Guitarhacker--I am making changes and definitely will include your advice too
Great song writing, and production... Excellent vocal performance too.
