https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urifgDPR6ioHey everybody I'm a music producer in Nashville and have recently started using band in a box and its really blown me away!
This is a doo-wop style song I recently made with my friend Fernando under our group Yer Lips Are Blue.
There is a style change in the bridge to make it more bluesy while keeping the same drums for consistency.
Thanks for listening
-Andrew
Interesting Andrew, not really doo-wop though occasionally the bvox stray into that territory.
Nice capture of the main voice.
There're a few spots where the sibilant sounds get in the way of it though.
Sounds like an interesting lyric.
well done.
It's "expected" that the style used, the tracks used, the DAW and any VSTs/special outboard gear, lyrics etc. are listed so listeners can learn for the process too.
Welcome to the forums.
Lots to like about this.
What a great first delivery here on the showcase
Clearly we should be expecting more quality deliveries from you.
I love the song lyrics, and the seemingly simple production. Vocals are excellent, and very well recorded. The sweet delivery reminds me of a song I recently recorded... Great work Andrew.
A nice song. Good, simple production. (Is it all BIAB?)
Pleasant vocals.
Good mix. A good listen.
Welcome to the Showcase.

AH, welcome to the forum, Luck. I really enjoy your first song. It may not fit under the doo-wop flag as Ray suggested (because it doesn't have the 4-part BGVs), but it would definitely be played on the same channels. Wonderful vocal. Is that you or Fernando? Nice harmony, and a perfectly chosen band. So glad you found BiaB, and it's cool listening how it'll change your life. hehe. Keep 'em comin'.
This sounds really nice. Welcome to the forum.
Do you have a link to your musical production offerings in Nashville?
Welcome to the forum, I love your song. I wish you had included the lyrics, but I really enjoyed what I heard!!
Yeoman work here, I really liked it. Normally we like to get the lyrics but the vocal was so crystal clear I didn't really need it. Excellent effort all the way around, welcome to the Showcase!
THis has a 60's feel to the tune and the groove. Nice first offering on the forum.
It really helps if you can include a list of the BB/RB tracks you use as well as a copy of the lyrics so we can read along. Doing that really helps us get a feel for the bigger picture.
Very nice work.
Great mix and arrangement! I dig the vocals as well.
Thanks for all your feedback and kind words! This was basically recorded into LUNA (daw) through an apollo interface with processing through soundtoys plugins. The mic was a u87ai. This was part of a "song a day" that Fernando and me were trying to do with band in a box after I recently got it. I'm the singer and he wrote most of the lyrics.
The BIAB was the _RETRO 12-8 vintage guitar it looks like with some extra real tracks that are bluesy in the bridge for anyone wondering.
I don't really have any links to production work I just worked as a session player mostly for "bomb shelter" studios in Nashville and gigged around a lot. COVID has severely impacted that so I do mostly graphic design for artists these past 1.5 years but it's been interesting doing more harmonica and drum work from home.

lyrics:
Never been a lucky man
I’ve always had a lousy hand
Yet I took a chance on you
And all my chips went down the tube
Even so I still love you
If I could place my bet again
I’d gamble all for just a kiss
My Love
I’d lose it all to gain your love
I confess you played me well
Because I fell under your spell
Stubborn I thought I could win
By compromising with this sin
And I still think that I can win
My conscience 's wrong and you are right
I’d be a fool for just a touch
My Love
I’d break the Rule to steal your love
Well my darling
Now I’ve got nothing
Except my ole pride and soul
Yes my darling
I would pawn them
To taste a little crumb of your love
Bet you knew how it would end
Your heart cost more than I could spend
Never really had a chance
Except for one song and one dance
And still I’d take another chance
To turn my luck into your arms
I’d pawn it all for just a waltz
My Love
I’d spend it all to buy your love
AGain thanks for all the feedback!

Hi, Andrew.
Welcome to the forum!
6/8 time doesn't show up around here.
Sad, slow do wop is a good combination. Nice throwback!
Hey Andrew...the first few notes I thought of Ricky Nelson when I heard the vocal...I'm a sucker for 6/8 time and this is great...thanks for posting this piece...great listen.
Real purdee one - sweet and simple great sounding track loved it Andrew.

Super good first posting! Loved the overall sound! Vocals are delivered very well! A great mix also!
Like Floyd, I am curious as to what is BIAB in this production.
