Play With Your Music 2.0 - Peter Gabriel Edition will start on May 16, 2014! PWYM 2.0 will unfold over 10 weeks including interactive listening and production assignments, discussions and interviews. All of this will be augmented by live and pre-recorded interviews with musicians and collaborators who've worked closely with Peter Gabriel over his long career.

PWYM 2.0 will follow the same general trajectory of projects as PWYM 1.0 - critical listening, recording analysis, audio FX, mixing, and audio and MIDI remixing - but through interactive experiences directly exploring the multitrack recordings of Peter Gabriel's hits Sledgehammer and In Your Eyes. We invite you to apply the ideas in this course to your own music making and learning experiences. Together, we can reimagine and reinvent audio education.

Play With Your Music continues to be a collaborative experiment for us. We plan to continue to tinker with the course format and explore new tools for sharing ideas and supporting your music making, learning and education. We hope you will tinker with us.

That sounds awesome, though I assume I would bail on the class because of lack of patience at going through material at a pace designed for a class of widely varying experience levels. There are so many resources available for learning at exactly the appropriate pace, I would surely stop attending and get into the specific tutorials I need. But it is great they are doing it, and I appreciate your passing on the info to us.

Regarding the quara.com page on musical modes... aren't modes delicious? Isn't it great that they exist, and so neatly encapsulate various moods? Nice exploration of them, though I think he should have just ran his fingers over a music keyboard when he was introducing them, to let people experience them in a basic, unadorned form, and hear the different type of mood suggested by playing the white keys from D to D, as opposed to E to E, etc. Great that there are people wanting to share this info, though (and making a living doing so!).

Looks like a completely awesome course. Signed up today and can't wait until Friday when it starts.

Thanks for sharing the link. Most of all this looks like it's going to be fun.
