Exactly! Just learn how to read music, it ain't that hard, even kids in elementary school learn to read music via a recorder and/or a band instrument instructions.

I completely agree. I learned in the third grade from a steel guitar teacher. The advantages to that is the open chord tuning with relatively easier finger picking patterns. You Tube is totally giving kids the wrong idea.
