I have an all midi style loaded and the strings are too high, How can I transpose the strings only ?.

By using biab.. as I am using an external module, I know I can do it within some software modules like sampletank etc.

One way, is to go into Preferences -> Channels and then and set Strings' channel (default is 6) Octave column to -1 (down one whole octave)

That is a global setting so it will not change after each song or session. You'll need to remember to change it back to default down the road.

Exactly. This is why I do all of my transposing in my DAW.
