Posted By: Ape13 Are there ghost styles in Ultrapak? [Resolved] - 05/23/21 02:44 PM
Hey,
how many band styles do the band owners have in the Ultrapak of Band in a box? I’m wondering when Stylepicker says, for example, there should be 3379 “Everything Country” styles but there are only about 2500 found. “Everything Pop” says there are 3460 styles but 2611 found?

There are a lot of styles anyway, but I wonder if there are some "ghost styles" involved or why not everyone is found.

And secondly, greetings to PG Music. I got an Ultrapak about 2 weeks ago as a Pro upgrade for $ 279. Last Friday, PG Music emailed an offer that I could have upgraded to Pro: "As a Band-in-a-Box® Pro user, you're eligible for a special upgrade offer - the 2021 UltraPAK with ALL Xtra Styles PAKs 1-11 for only $249!" It felt really unfair!

Ape,

It's definitely worth contacting PG Music about the discrepancy between upgrade prices. They are a generous company to deal with and they may surprise you. Do it now, though. You use Live Help (the blue rectangular icon found at the bottom right of the screen).

Often styles are assigned to more than one category. For example, some country styles cross over into pop and folk (and vice-versa). I wonder if this is what's causing what you're seeing. To be honest, I never look at any of those things so I don't have a definite answer for you.

Regards,
Noel

Hi. I can’t help with the exact count, but I am reasonably sure PG Music includes in the count every style they ever made. This includes Xtra Style Paks, 49-Paks, and Bonus Paks.

EDIT: and Noel is right about some crossover of genres.

As for you missing out on a sale price, please call PG Music Sales and ask about that. They have always been reasonable. They have been known to make adjustments within 30 days. It wouldn’t make sense to do the ultimate adjustment and return it, to then rebuy. Call them and ask nicely.

Thanks for the answers Noel and Matt!

Maybe it's just some crossover of genres. Styles are in any case enormously.

I'm Scandinavi and we have almost midnight here, so I'm tomorrow in connection with PG Music Sales.

Got to wait a day, unfortunately. It's Victoria Day in Canada.

We had sales staff here 8am-4pm PST for the holiday yesterday, so we were able to take care of Ape13 from the looks of it. He should find an email in his inbox shortly!

Yes, the matter was handled in a great way! I had in vain bought a $ 29 style package in April. PG Music returned the money for that too!

I am very grateful! Thank you again!

Have to admit, have never dealt with a company this is as customer focused as PG Music. So much so that at times it seems that their product is not BIAB but customer support and service. Truly outstanding!
