Hi All, Here’s a bit of a follow-up to our last song, “2 Minutes In A Car Wash”. The story continues with Little Blue Green Opel. She had a little blue green Opel With a short funny shift She drove it everywhere Never needed a lift A radio with buttons Some candy in her coat A paperback of Burroughs And a half-written note She'd park down by the river Watch the barges roll on past Said the future was a thief And the present would never last She had boots from Vienna With cracked leather soles She only walked at night Cause she said it had soul I asked where was she going She said maybe somewhere Then she laughed like a poet Who had nothing to fear We drank in the Opel Till the bottle ran dry Then she pointed to the stars And whispered don’t you lie She had a little blue green Opel And a map torn in two She said don’t try to follow Then disappeared into the blue BIAB Tracks: 2958: Bass, Acoustic 075 0892: Piano, Acoustic, Solo 065 3100: Organ, Rhythm, Background 060 Other Notes: Pre-Production: Track Editing GarageBand & Logic Pro Izotope Ozone 10 Elements & Ozone 11 Izotope Nectar 3 Elements for Vocals Izotope Plasma for Instrument Tracks Processing Bob: Martin 000-18 on Right / Left Channels Bob: Chajchas Shaker for Percussion Bob Mic: Logitech Blue Yeti Bob Vocals: Logic Pro Joliz Mic: Audio Technica AT2020USB+ Joliz Vocals: GarageBand Waves: Vocal Rider Final Track Mix & Master: Logic Pro As always - thanks for listening! Hi Bob! “2 Minutes in a Car Wash” followed up by “2 Chords in a New Song”. At first I wanted to hear more chords, but with that wonderful backing by Joliz’s that sounded like cello + viola, it soon had hypnotic effect and I got hooked to listening closely to the lyrics. This is a very good example of ‘less is more’. Great poetry in song. Andrew D

Bob, usually the sequels are not as good as the original however in this case I think the sequel is better than the original and the original was an outstanding song. You don't need a lot of chords or tracks to make great music and this proves it. Outstanding vocal and lyrics - you are a great story teller Super backing band and mix loved it

Bob and Joliz, super song, a smashing sequel. The D-18 sounds great, as do your vocals and the floating BGVs. The kind of song that just draws you inside the story. Very cool!

Great vocal, and love the background vocal from Joliz too, very effective.

Very cool..... nothing but verses, in the spirit of Dylan.... It works and tells an interesting story.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Another superstar of a song from you. I'm gonna run out of superlatives, at this rate - which would be a pity, because you deserve them all.
2 or 3 chords, who's counting. I've always said it: you do so much with (seemingly!) so little. Some of the very greats don't need complicated chords, etc., to create something which lasts. You are right up there with them all, I firmly believe that.
Joliz is the perfect complement, here. A soaring line, just in the background from your voice, Bob - which, in turn, delivers its smoky tone, as always.
Keep writing. I get the feeling, when I listen to your songs, that I am peering (with permission) into someone's life, or diary, or something of that nature. It's personal, clear, yet still somehow enigmatic. And it just hits you. Brilliant lyrics, brilliant singing, brilliant music.

Man, you are singing about a gal from the 60s who had a green Cricket; everyone called her Cricket. Regarding the sequel, she never washed it; just drove it fast and hoped the wind would clean it. Man, I miss that gal and those times. That means this is a good write, Bob. I really enjoy your music, and Joliz was a wonderful addtion to your engaging vocals. Thanks for everything.

Hey very cool.
And very Dylan like people have said but mostly very Bob Dean. The two of you certainly did a great job on this.
I don't think I'd ever heard of an Opel but now I know!!
😃
Another one for the ever-expanding canon!

Hi, Bob. Listening to this is like being transported into the corner of a coffee house on folk night. Only somehow they managed to get an excellent performer to show up.

Another excellent song in all respects. Joliz backing vocals always seem made for your music, even when she's only singing ooh-aahs.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.
