On a related note, I somehow eventually ended up at Virtual Playing Orchestra, which is an attempt to curate a collection of the best sounds from Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra, No Budget Orchestra, VSCO2 Community Edition, Phaded Productions, University of Iowa, Philharmonia Orchestra and extra samples from Mattias Westlund into an .sfz collection.
