How?

Here in Germany the owner of a run-of-the-mill gas filling station engaged a consulting company to investigate the potential of energy cost savings. Emphasis is on energy cost saving - not energy saving.

The consulting company wound up with ordering a huge energy consuming fan, blowing a lot of energy into the air. The result was that the energy consume increased substantially to the effect that the owner slipped into a different consumer category -> with a lower price frame for the consumed energy. The result was a substantially smaller bill despite of more energy consumed.

Bad world.
