Some. Skunk. Funk. Yessir. Okay, if you want to enjoy Stevie and the original studio gang for the most part doin' Superstition, why not enjoy a live performance instead of a studio promotional overdub? Believe it or not, it is from the Sesame Street TV show. Be sure to catch the kid with the big hair. Talk about groovin' out... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ul7X5js1vE For "Over the Rainbow" -- dig the late great Eva Cassidy: Eva Cassidy

Superstition; very nice. Thanks for the link, I wouldn't have thought there would be a version like this.
There are a few 'kids' with big hair there. Drummer, guitar, and of course the kid at 0:40. Still watchin'.

This song has always made my hair stand on end - and it's shoulder length. Love the B3. Thank you Leonard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrLk4vdY28QIan

Really nice, Ian.
That's a C3. Identical works to the B3, but the "Cathedral" case rather than sitting up on legs you can see through. For some reason, the C3 was much more popular in England, making the B3's a bit more rare of a find.
The guy can play the Hammond. -- And takes great advantage of the 147 Leslie's inherent abilities.

There was a Hammond with the full case at the Masonic Hall. I played it off and on. Came in one day and there's a 20 year old Yamaha 3 manual with 'drums'. The took the the thing to the dump. I went out and it had been bulldozed, one guy said they thought about putting it aside but it was too heavy for his bad back.
No Leslie. The starter would sometimes not get the thing going, took like 20 tries. No one wanted to service it so someone donated a replacement.
Probably could have sold that puppy for some nice change on Ebay.

A little time spent with Randy and Michael Brecker will expose you to a lot of licks.. and then if you start getting into their studio work it gets pretty impressive. These guys played with so many people it's not funny.. but I still smile thinking about it.
Some Skunk Funk was a testing point when I was growing up. If you could play that song, you could learn just about anything. Very difficult horn lines to read, yet easily learned if practiced. That was the point.

Hi Ian, I'm not sure if my hair stood up or not, but I did get a chill. :>) Thanks for posting. I'm really enjoying this thread, but I'm having trouble coming up with something to post. The problem is, I have about a zillion favorites. lol. Ok, speaking of the chill factor, see if the piano run down in this tune does it for you. I hereby nominate this performance as being the best performance of this song for all time. (drum roll please.) Ok, drum roll please..... , I really mean it--drum roll please. Ah, come on folks, put the tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth and give me a drum roll please.....lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyYBRe6kXgoJim

Here are the lyrics: Prodigals Regret (Never Should Have Left You) by Bryan Duncan Oh, how could I have hurt you? Living cold and reckless What a careless fool I've been To have taken you for granted Me, the man with all the answers Never stopped to notice You were my savior and my friend I never should have left you Now I'm standing in your shadow Waiting as the tears begin to fall I never should have left you I never should have left you Oh, I'd give my life for one chance To have you back again But I've taken all my chances I turned and I walked away Love will carry on forever Leaving many wounded Heartaches never meant to be The scars will always be there Still, I don't think I can make it Living with a memory I lost a love I failed to see I never should have left you Now I'm standing in your shadow Waiting as the tears begin to fall I never should have left you nver sould hae left you Oh, you gave your life for one chance That I might live again I never should have left you I took your love for granted I never should have left you I never should have left you ©1984 Lexicon Music, Inc. I picked “Superstition” because the first time I heard it, and every time since, I have to stop what I’m doing and listen. It’s so infectious. I just came across a semi-bluegrass version of it on YouTube. The dude on the keyboard can certainly play and sing and the band is really good too. Keyboard, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, acoustic bass and guitar. Pretty cool. It’s definitely worth a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RukG82-RYZE&feature=PlayList&p=614C5812372A83A9&index=53I’m picking up some new additions to my YouTube playlist fo’ sho’. Mac, this is one of the best “covers” of that song I’ve heard, and it’s from a totally unexpected source. Let me know what you think. Bob

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
