If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs. A few excerpts: " The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program." " MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever." " Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."

The melody for "One song every day Helps the memories fade away Like a little bird in a tree I feel free" sounds more open, free and unconstrained than the rest of the song...which works given the structure & narrative. Cool sounding thing though the lyrics don't really survive analysis, (perfectly pop). Good to see you again, Ray. I hope all is well. Thanks for listening and for your comment. I guess since I'm not a native speaker, none of my lyrics will stand up to deeper analysis, but as you said, for pop music it's enough

These tools are poppying up every where. And, at least in photo editing, years old apps are being relabeled AI. Guess we can think back to Babylon and refer to the abacus as AI. 🤪 Bud

V. lol if we come back in 10 years i'm sure pg will still offer rb. time will tell if i'm right. the problem today is rb is not an instant app. to appreciate its depth of features one needs to be willing to spend lots of time with. rb. frankly i dont care whether bb or rb..i just want one or other to be my 'work center' rather thzn haveing to flit around between pg and non pg music apps. if you read these forums youll see many users want rb to survive. heres what i want in rb... ..nd editing ..the new bb mpicker. ..the bb new lovely generation speed. and there other things...to save me retyping see my bb and rb wishes in the wishlist forums. shlind. rb unique..some examples ..genning tracks of course ..very strong midi tricks and there are others...just read the manual to see if rb is for you. other rb users can add their own opinions. happiness. om 🇨🇦 🇬🇧

Try substyle changes. Also track settings allow you to configure middle choruses. Change the bass player sometimes works.

I did an experiment with this new great BiB 2024 v.1109. 1. Made a short 8 bar chord sequence, just 8 bars, no repeats. 2. Style ZZJAZZ, tempo 140. 3. For bass I chose Hi-Q Upright Acoustic Bass 'N'. No Midi patch. 4. When I came back to Mixer I noticed that BiB had changed the Track name 'Bass* to 'Piano 1'. And Piano track was changed to 'Piano 2' (of course). 5. I played my 8 bars and saved the result. 6. Exported the Song as Audio File. 24bit/44.1. Sounded OK. 7. Next I exported the Song as Audio File 24bit/48Khz. Didn't sound ok anymore. The tempo was faster and the pitch higher. 8. 24bit/96 was still faster like playing the 24/48 at double speed, high pitched. Funny but not in the right way, I think. Could someone please explain why this happened? And yes, the program seems to crash easily and too often. I have had none of such difficulties with BiB 2023 v.1013. My setup is I think quite normal: Windows 10 64bit Home with latest updates. Lenovo Legion Y730-17ich. Intel i5-8300H, 2.30GHz, 16 GB memory. RME Babyface interface/ASIO. N.I., IK and Steiberg, Finale and Reaper. I have used (on/off) BiB from the year 1, I think, from Atari and Windows 3 era, or so. BiB v.1013 has been stable no problems so I continue using it.

I've long wondered at the apparent absence of a simple "Al Coda" option, which would handle many things. Often I just want to say "if this is the final chorus, exit the loop here and play the coda to end. I know that people sometimes use DC al Coda or DC al Fine to say "play the first A again" in an AABA form, even where the AABA will be repeated multiple times. To me that just seems wrong, but it appears not unusual.

+1 some things can take years and years One gets the distinct impression that some get forgotten about. I've had the impression that each year's planned enhancements get scheduled and may or may not be delivered depending upon how well the work progresses, and then after release the wishes and fixes are somehow restarted and some stuff just "drops off". Of course some wishes may never have been put into the plans at all ... not within the philosophy; too hard at present; breaks compatibility; and so on. I do personally still think that the "X new features each year" business model distorts the focus on these things. (Note: my use of X here does not mean that PGM has been bought by Elon Musk :D)
