I'm bit late to comment, but got lost in illusion of timeline Mix of really many styles and lyrics travel through the history and the cameraman is witnessing it all happening. So many great lines, worth studying the deeper meanings, enjoyable playing with words "ignoring the law of rocks and scissors" Great intro and ending, really thoughtfully built. Hiphopping sounds classic. The instrumentation is excellent, truly creative use of RTs, the guitar solo is fantastic. I think this is

Really touching lyrics, confusion in the first verse and optimism in the second verse described very beautifully. The minor key in the verses works very well, gives sort of a dreamy feeling (what just happened...what should happen next). Nice chord to rise to the catchy chorus. Great vocals also this time. The band and the mix are top quality, the acoustic bass is especially nice and I like how the organ is introduced. Nice slowdown ending ("slow me down"). Janne

Noel, I think every aspect of this song works so well. It's great lyrically, but the arrangement is really something special - it has it all! Outstanding vocal - I also think this is one of your best songs. Love the lift in the chorus. Excellent! Bob

Hi, Noel. Melodically, this is different than other things what you've done, in that it's a bit more rhythmically driven. The minor/major works seamlessly. As you said, it gives a nice lift to the song. I didn't hear a change in feel at the transition at 3:35. There's a shift in rhythm at "So" that feels a bit like a lurch like might be handled better - a drum fill or something. Good and interesting lyrics, although the some language felt a bit dated, sort of of early 70's. (I say

Jump to new posts Color of bar lyrics by J. Larry @ Today at 09:30 AM

Had to do a return to factory settings. The support team has been very helpful in responding to questions. However, my principal concern is how to change the color of the bar lyrics. I’ve looked through layers under chord display, along with the many items under display options. I had the lyrics initially as dark blue and now the color is a light purple. Everything else is in place. Can’t locate a specific command, or drop down menu, to change the color of lyrics. Is that possible? T

Floyd, For a write from the mid 90s this has a completely fresh sound. A great vocal delivery by you (and harmonies by Janice) as always and a crisp mix. I could also hear Dwight Yoakam doing this song. It has that kind of authentic feel that is so hard to get - would make a great album title and opening cut... Excellent stuff! Loved it! Bob

Blues1952, we can get behind this request if we understand it better. As above, an example of what you mean by searchable library could help. Also an example of the place you find track and style descriptions limited. Are you referring to the DOS standard of 8.3, or something/somewhere else?

Note that the above does not have to be an either/or setting for the song. In the Editable Notation Mode, you can turn triplet resolution on or off for individual beats.

That's helpful. The tracks are the ingredients, yes. Perhaps the style is the recipe. Different cooks make different recipes with the same ingredients = different styles? Something along those lines... I'm better at music than cooking.

Great write! Strong intro, leading directly to the hook. Despite having read the title, I didn't guess the "reveal" until it showed up at the end of the first verse. Like good pop, it felt obvious and inevitable. Clever lyrics, catchy melody. Excellent vocals - front and back. Driving backing track... almost "bouncy". The band is hot. Favorite clever line among many: if you must be cruel to something, don't be cruel to that I was thinking "Wow, this is a short so

Dave is correct; here is a screenshot of where you would turn on the Triplet Resolution setting in the Notation window Options. You would first need to click the "Opt." button in the very left hand corner of the Notation window.

A co-write with my buddy Reid Richmond. This was published by Millhouse Music. They pitched it hard for a while (mid 90's). Mostly to the hat acts at the time. It was heard by someone from Tanya Tucker's camp and they thought it would be right for her if we could rewrite the opening lines to change the gender. Which, of course, we did... and sent it over. They put it on hold. That lasted a few weeks and then was dropped. Typical. I hadn't ever recorded it myself, so I thought I would. I asked m

Considering that I consider myself a "country guy"........ I don't fear exploring other styles. I quite often use rock styles in my country songs. I used LA HARD ROCK in several early on in my time with BB. With BB, there are a lot, and I mean a lot of really great sounding rock styles complete with the guitars. I did a song a while back that was called Under the Black.... a song about pirates and the series Black Sails that is on Starz TV.... (great series BTW) I used a rock st
