Give it a try! Nothing ventured nothing gained. You may have to try a different generative ai for the current owner as chat gpt is not always trained on the latest data. I think google’s Gemini is trained on the latest. If you do give it a try, let us know what you think.

Re: Import Frozen SGU Tracks Utility Audio Tracks Missing Jeff Yankauer 03/26/24 05:32 AM Forum: RealBand Jump to new postsJump to new posts
Actually, what may be the case is you have "Auto-generate song when .MGU file is opened" disabled in the Song Generation preferences tab, and I have that setting enabled. What I now think is actually occurring for me is that when I load in the .SGU it's not actually loading in the frozen tracks (which would be embedded in the SGU) but re-generating them completely. So, it looks like I need to see if I can get RB to read in the data from the SGU for those frozen Utility tracks rather than regenerating those tracks.

Thanks for posting the link to the SGU. It's still working for me with the SGU in the link. I reverted back to build 1109 of BBW2_64.exe to see if that would affect it (since I was using 1111 which isn't yet released), and the utility tracks still are loading for me. If you right-click on BBW2_64.exe and select Properties, what version is it? Thanks. [Linked Image]

RealBand problems with Kushview Element [Resolved] mkg50 (Mike G) 03/26/24 04:04 AM Forum: Recording, Mixing, Performance and Production Jump to new postsJump to new posts
As RealBand doesn’t handle VST3 I’ve been using Komplete Kontrol as a wrapper so I can use Kontakt 7 instruments. Alas it seems Native Instruments has now made Komplete Kontrol as VST3 only as well. Unfortunately, this means I can’t use any of my Kontakt instruments. My options seem to be: 1. Learn to use another DAW that handles VST3, such as Reaper 2. Use another Wrapper such as Kushview Element. I’ve tried Kushview Element which seems to work EXCEPT the volume slider in the Kontakt instrument returns to zero when I reopen the file. When I move the volume slider back to where I want, it plays OK – EXCEPT it doesn’t take any notice of the volume nodes I enter for the track, which means no volume automation And, yes, I have assigned CC7 to the Kontakt volume slider. Also, the Kontakt pan slider moves completely to the left after reopening the file. Even after I move the pan slider back to the middle it still only outputs on the left. Has anybody got any suggestions. I really don’t want to have to learn to use a new DAW. Thanks in advance. Mike I’ve attached event lists to show midi events at the start of the song (track 3 is the track with Kushview Element. I've also posted this in the RealBand forum.

The little white arrow could open up the automation lanes for vol, pan etc.., you will also have clip volume and fades that will change visually the waveform. You could also show the current pitch change amount in the clip visually rather than having to right click to see. [Linked Image]

Hey Ya'll, The only thing I found I didn't like about this was that it ended. What a great iteration of this old gem! With the Queen Vocalist singing, it had to be good - just a fact. And Peter, you really ripped those guitars! Everything perfect. That's all I got. Take care, Alan

That was posted about 3 years ago: Old Muso's Bar View so it's getting there, it just needs the editable Chord track, region names track, and the instrument names in the track items, so you will see where instrument changes occur on a track giving you the "Bar View" you wanted in the Track View. True indeed what David said about the Blues. Great tune and arrangement, then again anything with Janice in it has to be good. The same goes for the rest of the lot. Cheers Mike B.

Yes. Neural networks are classifiers. So an AI engine could be trained on works of art, and then given a new work of art, classify where that artwork was relative to other artists. Of course, there's plenty of room for error - a particular artist might not be in the database, or maybe this particular work has more in common with other works the AI was trained on. But it's certainly within the scope of what a neural network can do.

Thanks all. I have no more songs planned for now. I also have workarounds for it if I need bass and drums. Odd that something like this isn't working right after all these years. Are we sure that they addressed it in the new version?

Seems to work for me with Build 3 of RB 2024. The frozen Utility Tracks do show up even though the order seems reversed. Could you post link to example SGU in which this occurs? Thanks.

AudioTrack is right; the problems I read about with the plugin were discussed about a more recent build. Given this and your other post about missing drums, it would probably be wise to update to 2024. The updated plugin comes bundled for free.

Re: Art MPA II Tube Pre Amp - Anyone Used For Vocals? rharv 03/25/24 10:51 PM Forum: Recording, Mixing, Performance and Production Jump to new postsJump to new posts
I used those mics as a reference because their reported impedance is lower than a lot of them. "Rated impedance is 150Ω (310Ω actual) for connection to microphone inputs rated low impedance" The others probably appear louder and clearer when higher because that is the impedance they expect. Starving a mic is different than giving it too much, so the two mics you used and the two mics I mentioned would likely show different results to the ear. So many SM-57 and 58's out there still in use, but many interfaces do not have a way to adjust for them. I have a separate preamp that works just fine, and if I insert it before the interface it's fine. But having an interface that did it in the first place is a nice feature. That said, my Preamp also offers the additive tube feature .. so works a treat on other stuff as well. If that ART has an 'instrument' in switch, may be fun to se what your guitar or bass sounds like through it.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
