That reminds me of the time in 1991 when we played an event for recovering alcoholics and we started drinking beer at 1pm during setup. By the time we started at 8 we were HAMMERED!!! That didn't go over well. At all. That was probably a collective bad decision as I look back on it now...

Mark. re doing vocals. even big name vocalists are helped along by studio "tricks" and engineering. which is why when one hears a band live they sometimes "dont sound like the hit record." i sincerely hope the following little tricks help you in your quest. 1. confidence is a VERY big thing. say to yourself "i can do it". breath in measured amounts matching the song phraseing. get one phrase right at a time. before going on to the next phrase. ie bite sized chunk

great video to illustrate some of what's possible when you combine a Helix with a Variax. I liked what he said about the complex things people do in the controlled studio environment, which may sometimes be difficult to reproduce on stage. The programmability and flexibility of this system pretty much makes ANYTHING possible on stage. I am also reminded of the complex pedal setups artists like Eric Johnson have, which enable him to switch between dirty and clean amps and entirely different l

At a best friend's wake years ago a small hot air balloon was released near the ocean at night. We had the same feeling listening to this that we received while watching that balloon fade into the distance. For modern stuff, if you had more variations of the same instrument like you have with Drums, like the same guitar going from one strumming/picking/held/muted strum pattern to another. You now have A part that plays in A and B part the plays in B, if you were able to F5 change to another pattern of the same guitar having the same tone and recorded level it would blend in seamlessly at pattern changes as a virtual instrument guitar would do. This will give way more control and variations that wil

There's a calmness there that takes your breath away." That was worth the price of admission. Strong write, vocal, arrangement and mix plus the vid keep ya on board from the get go. We use to play a song called "Clean Straight Shooter" in a couple of biker bars that liked us and paid us well. They were very fond of the rude off-color songs. Homophobia was rampant as was racism. "Straight shooter" is a type of crack pipe and it also can be used to say I am not gay. The guys in the biker bar loved it and demanded we play it at least two times a night. I played the song once in a black bar where I am very well known and some thought it was funny. Mrs Jo

FWIW, we don't hear any pop here just an excellent country tinged rock song. Old school? new school? -- how about simply good? ... very good! That genre or sub genre is one we are well familiar with and for us is timeless. You nailed the arrangement and mix for this with the light open feel. Plenty of space for everybody. Great vocals, like Ray said excellent diction, with the fine lyric readily understood. Ace guitar also. Glad that radio dial landed on this! J&B

No, it is easier than that. Don't "Remove Plugin" as shown in the picture. Instead select "Choose Plugin". This will allow you to change to any of the Plugins you have installed. But I thought we had concluded that this did not work on your system. Based on responses we have been getting, seemed like the problem was specific to something at your end. The file you sent works fine here. I can select any sound plugin, including Kontakt if you want a real high Q sound.

"Love BIAB. I use it daily. Their support is great too!"

"RealTracks are amazing!!! I use BIAB for backtracks in my solo act... Still using the basic package and it's all need..."

"I have used Band in A Box for many years. If it would have been around when I was young, I would have been a much better musician. I use it for all my songs I have written and recorded. With Band In A Box I can sit in my room and sound like a whole band without having to put up with them!"

"If you know something about music and take the time to learn the program, you can make it do some amazing things. It is a great help to songwriters who want to demo their song without paying for studio time. It makes changes and tweaks much easier as well."

"Been using it for so many years. It's a great tool. The instruments that I don't have or play make up the void and it saves so much time. I use this program for every song I write."

"Great tool for the songwriter!"

"An essential part of my studio! I write songs on piano, but I'm not a pianist by a long way. BIAB is like having a roomful of session players in your studio, and just the simple act of taking your basic idea and hearing a skilled pianist play it presents so many new ideas and options you hadn't thought of."

"Powerful, easy to use, inexpensive and they even split the modest payments up if you want. No complaints. Lots of satisfaction."

"I added a steel guitar to a fully produced original. He followed every change like he was in the studio reading the chart. Fascinating technology!"

"I have used it to make backing tracks for six CD's with about 12 songs on each. They make a great gift!"

"It's simply a necessity - buy it now - the staff and support do a great job as well!"

"A great tool for us songwriters!"

"I LOVE Band-in-a-Box!"

"I see it as a very worthwhile investment. In fact, from initial purchase about 8 years ago, using the backing tracks I have made, my income from that investment has returned over 5,000% on the investment!"

Band-in-a-Box® - Boxing Clever - Sound on Sound #TBT

Did you know that Band-in-a-Box® is more than 30 years old? I stumbled across this 1990 magazine article explaining the relatively new program, and think it's an enjoyable read for any Band-in-a-Box user - it really shows that we are always listening to user feedback when developing our program!

Read the article: Boxing Clever: Band-In-A-Box Software

A few of my favorite statements:

"The intention of PG Music's Band-In-A-Box package is to couple that speed and convenience with the improved flexibility of the personal computer. Versions are available for the Atari ST, Mac, and PC compatibles. Have the programmers succeeded? And can they rid themselves of the stigma of the auto-accompaniment section? Given the above state of affairs, the first hurdle that the program has to overcome is one of acceptance and, frankly, a name like 'Band-In-A-Box' is a bad start."

(I think our name was a great start!)

"The final results are, to say the least, impressive. Band-In-A-Box achieves something that most hardwired auto-accompaniment sections have never been able to do - inject a degree of feel into the music. It really does sound more human than so many of the computer generated pieces I've heard."

"...I'm quite convinced that PG Music will have a winner on their hands. This is one piece of software that you can get more out of than you put in."
