Additional Song Settings mrgeeze 04/09/24 06:11 PM Forum: Beginners Forum Jump to new postsJump to new posts
To me accessing the additional song Settings menu seems more cumbersone than previously. I use this sub menu a fair amount in my work. It seems buried deeper (or more keystrokes) than previously. Maybe my memory is failing. At present I know of 2 ways to get there. Command KEy +K then hit the more button or Edit (drop Down) .......Song Form (drop Down) ..............Additional Song Settings. Just wondering

Yo Marty...no modulations here...it's baby steps for Hayden, Natalie and me so far...but stay tuned there's a modulation on the horizon I can sense it! thanks...Dan

Dewey...thanks...oddly enough when the voices go to their lower registers they tend to go flat (just like real people...I love it!!)...I can hear it too ...not sure what I'll do about that...probably make them sing in higher keys? who knows?...thanks again...Dan

Hey Floyd...thanks for your comments...the 2:49 comment (which I appreciate) is about making the guys sound more human and even though the note is very low and no singer would choose it I suppose...I can sing that note and I thought it fits the melody...so? maybe it's just me...anyway this song is one that to use your term is a "throw away" song for me...though to be honest I may use the melody again with new lyrics to fit my musical mission statement better...thanks again...Dan

Check the sample rate settings of the two programs. Band-in-a-Box likes 44.1KHz while (I think) Cakewalk likes 48KHz.

A fever pitch for sure. What a terrific experiment with very intertaining results. A highly sucessful experiment. High temperature. Cool bass amd the whole picture you paint is full of musical asthetics. You even captured the sound of the reel to reel running out before the fade.

Hello, Scott & Robert. I enjoyed this song and video for the first time the other day. What a fun ride. Never ask why cuz the answer is the ineffable experience of the ride. Love the video, the lyrics, the vocals, the guitars, the band, the mix and the lasting feeling.

Change of Times, by Hans (me) and Anne-Marie Birchwood 04/09/24 03:54 PM Forum: User Showcase Jump to new postsJump to new posts
Hi everyone, It has been a while since I'm back here. It were busy times. I noticed I missed a bunch of songs. I will catch up with them soon. As I said it were busy days. I made 2 songs; one with Anne-Marie from RnAM, and another one with Marty. But will only post the first one for now. It is called Change of Times,https://on.soundcloud.com/z9kJf3vbWUJMtMt86 About the song: It is a Rock-Waltz, bpm 140. It's about aging and what comes with that. Anne-Marie joined me with the lead vocals and did the BG-vocals by herself. And she did that amazingly! The song is a remix from an older one I made. But the lyrics, composition and used instruments are different. I also made a video of it on YouTube:
I hope you like it, in spite of the topic ;-)) Hans ============================================================ The lyrics: Change of times (nw) (C) HWBerkhout 04/02/2024 When dark clouds gather The sun fades and the sky turns gray Then things won't get better Oh I, hate this day Chorus Time flies fast when comes that day And your future won't be around The past echoes in your words, they will say Then you will lose your ground Your world becomes difficult, challenges don't wait When aging arrives, its grip is unkind Expectations falter, ‘cause you're out of date And you hope it won't take over your mind Chorus Time flies fast when comes that day And your future won't be around The past echoes in your words, they will say Then you will lose your ground Oh yes, you'll lose your ground =Solo= Obsolescence is part of life Now I’m dealing with it too It sometimes causes strife Or makes me feel blue I accept I'm under attack Though we all call it 'fate' I accept to walk another track It's my body that tells me to wait Chorus Time flies fast when comes that day And my future won't be around The past echoes in my words, you will say But I need to hold my ground I know my time is limited But I would like some decency Or else you can wait longer, a bit My words will become my legacy

Hi Brain, You must know by now that I love the songs you make. I mostly respond on YouTube to you. As I know, I've also subscribed to your site and listened to a lot of your songs. They are great, in every aspect.. And I also a wine lover (and sometimes a small rum). But snobery? But now that I think about it... you haven't subscribed to my Birchwood page. And did you do that to Marty? He has only a few after all these years. How can we become famous when things go this slow... But I'm happy you have a great album. And please, continue making those intriquing songs... Hans

Hello Carl, I fell in love... Your song is very, very attractive in it's play, rhytm, and band. I didn't expected it when hitting the play-button. But I also didn't know what to expect. Great guitarplay, wonderful with those drums. Yes, I really enjoyed this. That's why I fell in love. With this song! Hans

Hi David, I'm very late at this party. I was impressed by the vocals, however after a while I hoped a new swing would enter this singing. But that is, because this (EDM) style is not really my thing. But the way you composed and play all this is very good! I had some tiny doubts on the sound of the drums, but then I realized in EDM they have to sound more electronical. The nicest thing is that you experiment with those vocals and music styles. Like that very much. We need to be creative all the time!!! So, good work Dave, Hans

Hi Rob and Anne-Marie, Ik had op YouTube al gereageerd op je ontzettend leuke liedje. Had de vraag; hoe verzin je dit? Even in het Engels, met wat extra's: I had already responded to your incredibly nice song on YouTube. Had the question; how do you come up with this? I hardly dare to eat eggs anymore... But I think almost everyone here will think the same, except the real vegetarians. They will embrace your song. My wife also listened to it and enjoyed it. Big laugh!!! And I noticed what you wrote to Mario. Then I had to laugh too.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
