I know this thread has been made before but the links in the replies were no longer active.I use to go here https://www.bensax.nl/biab/index.html - but the site is no longer active. I also use https://bhs.minor9.com/biab/jazz/I/ and https://tamos.net/~bemo/horn-arrangements/books%20and%20hot%20charts/%20Download%20BIAB%20songs%20finale%20files/ but still they are missing a lot of content. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance -Raquel

My Spirit Original So, I decided to give myself and my friend a happy birthday memory in the form of an old tune brought new again. I wrote this decades ago, so it has many a good memory, I just never got around to recording it in the original genre. Yea, I just recorded it in another genre, go figure. Now, those days are gone, and I am the only one left that can still play, so I recorded myself using an acoustic guitar fingerpicking like the old days, playing with BIAB Hank (who plays a lot like my buddy Archie), I sing and play the lead guitar parts, so I cannot add this to my busking sets. Thanks for listening and please comment. ****** Song Summary ************* Title: My Spirit Original File:My Spirit original.SGU Key=C#m, Tempo 95, Length (m:s)=2:11 No intro. 16 bar chorus, from bar 1 to bar 16. Maybe do a survey down the local shopping mall or out on the street, there maybe more users there ? I think because of the many issue most users don't bother with it if you can simply drag the tracks from the main Biab app into your DAW. I have been trying very hard to get it made into an all in one, instant generate, play direct EZBBvst but it's very slow as it still relies on the old BBW4 running in the background that takes ages to get programmed for the JUCE vst. THIS IS THE MAIN ISSUE WITH THE PLUGIN am I wrong ? EZDrummer was released and just worked from the get go. EZD just has a single app.exe standalone or a vst.dll that accesses the Midi Drums library on the hard drive.

Hi, Scott. Well, that's a classic sound I've not heard in a while! There was a bit of unexpected dissonance in the chorus, but given the subject matter, that makes sense. Love the harmonies. Since you used "obeisance", I had to look it up... and it's a noun. So I get to go all Grammar Police on you for that. Fun listen!

Hi, Janne. As advertised, this is a happy song! Nice and upbeat, vocals sound great. I can tell you from experience I've managed to ruin more than a few songs by trying to be clever with too many complicated chords.

I'm not the sharpest tack in the shed but something tells me that this is either about one of our former presidents or perhaps even our current president. But I don't know because I've only got 10 fingers on my two hands and I need more than that to try and count through all of them and figure it out. Or maybe you're talking about every single politician in Washington DC except for maybe three people?? Good song though, whoever it is about! I hope they catch the guilty party!! I also hope we don't get duped and pick the obvious one cause that's always Satan's biggest trick. You got to be careful with that Satan, and the Antichrist, too. They're not usually the one in the red suit or sporting the orange hair. They're not always who you think. In fact they're usually the last person you would guess.

What I found was that out of 9 responses, 4 people use it, 5 don't use the VST at all (more than half), and only one gave it a definite 'Works Fine'.

Hey DCuny. I was really just using this post to kind of make a general intro, and future invitation. As the old joke goes, "I play BOTH kinds of music. Country AND Western." I have a pretty large swath of influences. But as my original post said, I usually just need a good guitarist, and/or kybds. If you let me know what you're good at I'll keep you in mind. Thanks, KC

I'm not an old timer so I have no idea of your idea. But somehow this reminded me of Henry Mancini type of jazz. Cool mood even when temperature is rising. The bass and snaps create mystery, the organ brings nice 60's feel and the alto flute adds excitement for the strange thing that is approaching. Clever stops, feels like that thing is stopping and checking that all entrances are clear. Janne

The False Prophet I had most of this song recorded a couple of weeks ago, but then I got ill. Consequently, I had no head voice to record the harmony until yesterday. We have had megalomaniacs, past and present, who attract masses that follow them with messianic devotion. You can take you pick for whomever you want the song to be about. Let's Get Drunk For Joy After several dark and depressing songs from me, I think you deserve something more cheerful. But those expecting complex chord changes will be disappointed, because this has only 3 chords I participated in a 3 chord song contest on a local forum with the original version of this song. It got positive reactions, so I decided to make an English version using the softest Synth V vocalist I have, namely Saros and Weina, Saros really sounds soothing on those lower notes. To make those chords sound more interesting, I used quite a lot of microchords with rapid changes between them. And, of course, those three chords are not the simplest ones: A7sus, DMaj7, Gm6/Bb And based on my experience, the message of the song is quite simple: drinking alone is depressing, drinking with someone doubles the joy. Grieving has to shake us up to remove all stubborn smut so that we could pristinely feel zest in our guts. I don't drink alone I don't sink for sadness I toast just for joy in your presence and gladness for love and beauty in lust for life. We must double our joy not let this bliss be watered down happy hearts may effervesce they bubble free and can't be drowned. Raise the glasses to wake up chemistry in every sense freeing the plague of luxury contagious and intense. I don't drink alone... Let's get drunk together off flavors of wines off the aura in eyes that shine. Let's taste the aromas of the succulent sweeties on our trips to nightly treats. I don't drink alone... ------------------------------ Janne

Hi, Christian. You can't go wrong with a waltz - very nice! The change from quarter notes to eighth notes gave the song a nice lift in the middle. Everything sounds fine when you've got single syllable words, but for me, when it comes to words with two syllables ("question", "little", "prefer", etc.) giving both syllables the same quarter note duration breaks the illusion that there's a real singer. Anyway, nice work!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
