A very minor bug MarioD 04/07/24 11:55 PM Forum: Band-in-a-Box for Windows Jump to new postsJump to new posts
I have found a minor bug. I have the" Recycle (trash) all dropped files in this folder on bootup C:bb\drapDrop" checked in the DAW Plugin options. My DAW does not need these files. When I boot BiaB and there are no files in said folders I get an error-erasing message. This error message does not interfere in any way with the BiaB operations, thus it is a very minor bug. I just thought you might want to know.

Scott, Stunning composition and super band. Very strong and unusual vocals. Mix is exceptional. Well delivered message. Thank you for sharing, Misha. P.S. No need to mention modern day wonders... but from the past gems, Stalin comes to mind. Vast majority, it seems either truly loved him, or feared him. The ones who feared turned out to be right. Ohh well.

Me thinking that I am 20-30 years old gets this 77years old's body injured! Note that I wont be 77 for long. PS - King Conga I may be available for a collaboration; I play guitar, bass, and wind controllers.

Ray + Janice & Bud, This is pretty complex and creative piece of music. A+ for composition. This was probably quite a tricky gig for Janice, but she pulled it off with grace. Stellar vocals! Cool blend of instruments and style fusion. Mellotron and classical guitar sounds fresh. Bass is excellent, but that is expected smile Two spins, super drive! Drums sound a bit on high side of EQ to my ears (I know it's DONE), otherwise mix sounds rich. Good one and thank you for sharing. Misha.

David, thanks. I hate to get English teacher nerdy on you, but "obeisance" is used as a noun in the song. It is the object of the preposition "in." It would be same if I had written "Kiss the ring in deference" but I then wouldn't have gotten the slant rhyme with forsaken. smile

Did not fix the problem. The background horns are there when I solo the horns part, so it's in that track. Just can't see them in any notation. They can't seem to be deleted.

Quite by accident we caught most of this program the other night, and were very impressed. I think this is based on the "Orff Method" which we never heard of. Anybody have experience with it? Watch the kid's faces, you can almost hear their brain cells crackling and sparking as neural connections are made. I wish I had a program like this available as a kid; fun and instructive at the same time. The Secret Song

People most certainly do, though I think even more use BIAB to make a backing track that suits them and the tune well, then render it to .wav or .mp3. Partly that's for no surprises in the backing, but perhaps more important is that a music player is more compact and it's cheaper/easier to have two in case of failures.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
