The lead and harmony vocals well represent the quick progress you are making with this technology. The whole thought of programming that and creating all the nuances makes our heads spin! The acoustic sounds excellent as does the entire mix. The helds are very nice. Well done! J&B J&B...thanks...it's time consuming for sure but fun so far...Dan Very nice Dan! Great Praise and Worship tune! Thanks David...I appreciate it...Dan

One reason this is best done in the DAW is that BiaB has a particular protocol for handilng its tracks due to the way styles are created. once you get the results you want then move to DAW of choice. Thanks Rob! That's what I'll do. Have a nice day!

I never intended to get into the zone, I never tried to do it, and I don't think you can intentionally get into the flow. With enough experience, it just started happening. I didn't even notice it at first. Agreed, that has been my experience. And the brain science research will continue. Not sure where it will lead, most likely in unexpected destinations; perhaps to better understand and treat savants.

FURTHER CONSIDERATIONS RE BUYING A USB AUDIO INTERFACE. (this is more aimed at users new to music production…. based on many years of buying interfaces for myself, and seeing typical mistakes made by others in buying etc etc.) 1..just because a friend is happy with an interface doesnt necessarily mean you will be. 2..there are so many differently configured pc's out there that what might work on one pc might not on another. 3..just because someone on the net says 'i'm happy with xyz' doesnt necessarily mean you will be particularly if you have different feature set needs. 4..if you're baffled why an interface doesnt work on your pc but does on someone's pc you know…it could be simply that your friend has a pc that's been specifically optimised for music production or custom built by a manufacturer for music production and tweaked or your friend isnt on the net whereas you are and thus your running special protection mechanisms that take pc resources away from the primary task of music production. There are many reasons… regarding buying or optimising an existing pc for music production have a leisurely read of this… https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=795663#Post795663 5.so youve been on one or more recording forums and are baffled by the many different usb audio interface recommendations. For example, start a thread on a forum… 'I'm a new user…what do you all recommend as a usb audio interface'....youll get a load of different answers and opinions from studios large and small…. thus its important to assess your OWN feature set needs which might be completely different from people recommending a product on the thread you started. 6..as i said in the highlighted thread above to save disappointment its imperative imho to try and test the interface via renting (very inexpensive) for a week or get a 30 day return. The gear shop I deal with has a no questions asked return/money back policy. 7..it's very important to do one's homework prior to purchase. and really research the many many interface offerings on the market versus your needs so you dont miss the best product for you…and i would suggest not to rush into a purchasing decision. The interface, and I can't stress this enough is 'THE HEART OF YOUR STUDIO', i.e. in the same way people take their time re-buying a house to live in…same goes for an interface so buying mistakes arent made. Another reason to 'try before buy'. 8..some people are swayed by user ratings. i suggest you do your own testing and research because your pc might be different in how its configured or they are using hot shot pc's that cost oodles versus your old clunker that might need optimising for music production. 9..A BIG FOCUS in your product search should be interface DRIVERS and their performance. just because someone on the net gushes about their interfaces drivers…maybe your system is different. you won't know till you test ON YOUR PC. 10..i can't stress enough that the combo of pc and interface deliver very low total latency. please read up carefully on the net about how to get a very low latency music production environment... and/or see my link in this post. as you can see the purchasing decision re an interface should not be made without considering various factors. Finally, one's budget should be considered. as ive been in tech for many years I typically buy in the middle price range…as i'm always concerned about rapid changes in technology/obsolescence …just something to consider....also if i see price drops on a product...and its not a rule..but i will ponder if a new product version is coming out. Now you might want to know where you might look at lots of different interfaces. There are many sites on the net that sell a plethora of devices where you can research devices with also interesting articles and/or blogs….eg… https://www.sweetwater.com/c695--USB_Audio_Interfaces https://www.zzounds.com/cat--Audio-Interfaces--2418 https://www.musiciansfriend.com/audio-interfaces and many others on the net….also try your local gear shop if you have one nearby. I hope the above helps someone. happiness. om

Thanks for sharing your journey with upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. It sounds like quite the adventure! I remember when I tackled a similar upgrade on an old laptop of mine. It's amazing how a little persistence and some helpful YouTube tutorials can make all the difference, right? Kudos to you for figuring it out and getting everything up and running smoothly!

Love your busking attitude, Donny. You're right about meetng some special homeless folk. There I found some of the best life attitudes on the planet. Speaking of attitudes, I love your attitude on this one. Cool song, and love the lyrics. Cool funky feel and that guitar was an excellent choice, although it does seem to cut into the vocal a little at times. I'm not a good judge of cheesy, so I defer to the category speicialists.

Regardless of any political connection, acknowledging Bacharach/David's "Magic Moments" as one of the greatest music compositions of all time is 100% correct. In fact, just about everyone of Bacharach & David's compositions. Such genius is rare, very rare.

Very cool style for this song. Perfect vocal and lyric. Really neat instrumentation. Well done Scott, glad you liked it! Thanks for the listen. Hi Ron. Wow! This is creativity on steroids. I loved it. The 'fairground' arrangement is superb and a perfect fit for RWD's extraordinary lyrics. The three of you have created something very special with this one. Musical brilliance at its best.--Noel Hi, Noel! THANK YOU for the kind comments. It was a lot of fun for all of us, so glad it hit the mark!

Sinds december 2023 mijn nieuwste versie BB2024 in gebruik genomen.

Hi James. I really like this presentation. It might interest you to know that before I read your introductory comments and started listening to the song, I read the lyrics in full. This is how I usually prepare myself for listening to User Showcase songs. When I finished reading your lyric, the thought in my mind was, "This reminds me of Mr. Miyagi in 'The Karate Kid' movie." Then when I read what you'd written to introduce the listeners to your song, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Mr. Miyagi was indeed to inspiration for your work The way that I heard these lyrics is that you've used the metaphor of 'painting a fence' as way of saying: "Through good and bad times, this is how I keep myself balanced and in equilibrium with the world." This really resonated with me. For the last 12 months, Life has been filled with health-related ups and downs for me. It's been a bit of a roller-coaster ride. I suspect that this is why I was able to empathise with your lyrics so strongly. Thanks for sharing another fine effort. I sincerely appreciated the journey you took me on. All the best, --Noel

Audible count-in is something that wasn't implemented when using Dxi/VSTi soft synths. That's because of the latency involved. During playback itself, the latency of the buffers can be taken into account when sending the metronome notes to the soft synth. I could try eventually having it implemented in the future, but I'm not sure if that would result in the count-in notes being slightly delayed and/or possibly the last count-in note being cut off when actual playback starts. It would really depend upon what buffer sizes are being used. Whenever I work on a song, I usually create a 2 bar lead-in (such as by generating RealDrums or filling a track with a drum pattern) which serves as the count-in if recording from the beginning, and if I need to record in the middle of the song I usually don't rely on the metronome count-in but just use the punch-in feature and start a bar or two before the punch-in point.

I enjoyed the part about triplets. PG Music has stated for YEARS that using triplets is how Band-in-a-Box switches from straight to swing feel. This video helped me to understand why.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
