I purchased Band In A Box less than a month ago. So, I'm sure I'm still learning the program.
I created a Style using all Real Tracks. The song sounds fine until the tag. It jumps to the tag when it is supposed to jump and where it is supposed to jump. However, I have the 'chord settings' for the bar it jumps to to 'Hold Chord', 'All instruments.'
They do except the drums. They continue to play. I have checked the 'chord settings' to make sure I didn't accidentally set it to 'All except.' In 'Chord settings' the beat is '1.' The chord is 'D.' The rest type is 'Hold, All instruments.' 'No push.'
I have deleted the chord from the bar and saved the song and opened it again and tried it again with the same results. I am at a loss. I do have the latest update.

*Which* Realdrum or Realstyle, specifically?
Yhis info may be important in terms of trying to duplicate the problem.
Meanwhile, you might try invoking another RealDrum with same basic tempo and feel, just to see if the same thing happens. OR, maybe better yet, load a pgmusic created realstyle that kind of fits and see if that does the same with the Holds.

According to the Mixer under the patches tab these are the settings for the style I came up with.
The drums are RealSrums=NashvilleOutlaw 01-HalfSn,Ride. The bass is 427:Bass, Acoustic, Bluegrass Ev 130. The guitar is 362:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 085. The strings is [doubletime] 979:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CountrySwingGritty Strum Sw 140.
And the tracks aren't frozen. I just thought of that one.
I switched out the RealDrums track with a RealDrums that was similar but not so similar that I couldn't tell I had switched it. It did the same thing as the previous RealDrums track. It played through the hold chord. So I went back in and deleted the chord from the bar and re-did it just to make sure. And it still played through.
I also did what you had suggested and used a PGMusic created style that was similar and the RealDrums for that style played through the tag. I went back and deleted the chord for that bar and re-did it. I generated the tracks and it did the same as before.
I even thought maybe the doubletime on the ele. guitar track might be causing the problem so I set it to Normal Time. No luck.
Hope this helps in tracking down the problem. I'll continue to see if I have FUBAR'd it somehow.

It would be nice if you could post a copy of your BIAB file for us to see it. I tried what you described, but the drums hold as expected.

As is usually the case, the problem is taken care of, in a way.
I copied everything and then closed out the offending file. I opened up a new file and pasted. Of course it didn't paste everything correctly so I added bars that were needed, etc. And added the tag. Voila, it worked. I kept the old file as I may want to try and figure out what happened. But for right now I'm just glad it is working like I need it to work.

Freeze that offending song and email it to support@pgmusic.com and reference this thread. And as John suggests, if you can post it here, we can try it too. I was about to suggest a workaround, that you make the tag start one bar eariler than it is, and add one duplicate bar, so the tag doesn't begin on the held drum part. But apparently it isn't needed. So you're still learning the program after a month? I'm still learning things after 20 years. This is one amazing program.

Very well could be simply a case of a corrupted songfile. It happens.
Still, would not be a bad thing to email a copy of the file to pgmusic, referencing this thread.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
