I have a rockabilly song and the Realtracks two-bar ending is a little abrupt. I can almost live with it but if I can fix it I'd like to. The sustain of the last chord just ends in a somewhat unnatural sounding way. Any help appreciated.

Can you copy the song's Memo and paste here in the thread so that we can see what Realtracks and style are involved? That way we can test it out.
If you use CTRL+T to switch views from full-screen mode to standard-view mode, the "Memo" button sits immediately above and slightly to the left of the tempo setting.
I find BIAB endings hard to get right.Try putting you final chord in as chord ... and then extend your ending out by a few bars.Youll getva long sustained chord so somewhere along the bars you added put (say) chord and a . Mess about with that.See how you go. Wendym

did you compose it in BB? I always compose in BB so if the end is cut short, add a few bars and set the song length to the song actual length plus 10 bars.
I've had a few "cut short" endings and the solution is to shut off the auto ending for 2 or 4 bars and add measures to let things play or fade over a few more bars.
If the song is 88 measures long, set the song length to 100 measures. Either hold or do a defined ending. With the extra bars, it isn't tempted to cut you short.
Of course, someone else can use more technical terms to explain this.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
I appreciate your help over the years. I'm not sure what you mean by 'compose it in BIAB?' I have 28 bars, verse and chorus, and it repeats four times. It's a simple progression. I have to admit I don't know that much about working in BIAB, but only because it has worked so well for me for many years with few hitches. Because of that, and also perhaps because my tunes are not that complicated, I'm embarrassingly unknowledgeable about the program despite the length of time I've used it.
Thanks for all those who've helped. I added some bars, still the same problem. It's really not that bad, I just think the last chord should sustain longer than it does.

I modded it, as the ending of the guitar on the pianotrack was the cause of the only 2 bar note sustain (See picture 1 below of your SGU file's ending). Modded the SGU by removing 2 bar endings and creating a tag, only then you'll have a singe note on the pianotrack then. (See picture 2 below, tag fix see next post).
You'll have to edit the style =BILLY (piano track set to guitar-midi GM voice) to fix that if you want 2 bar endings to work.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
