Update. Yes, you now have more than one day to edit the original post title. I'm not sure how long it works now, but I've tested it at two days. I recently requested that PG Music lengthen this limit, and they did.

This is a great request and would be very helpful to many. But as others have stated, after about 3 days you can no longer edit a post.
As we know, many of the 2019 issues are taking a bit longer to explore, confirm, fix and address. Perhaps the mods can lengthen this a few more days. It would be very helpful to all.
This is not ideal because the original post's subject line won't change, but you could always reply to the post and mark the Subject as Solved, and even add a note in the content. At least then anybody reviewing the thread content will identify that it is resolved.

Most other forums I can go right back in time and edit a post, there is no time limit. The Chord Picker I have to add a new post every time I update it and now it's so long, but if I could edit the post it would make it so much simpler. No really sure what the reasoning is to give such a short edit time ??????
I think one of the dangers of editing old post, could be that it will play havoc with the data base for search etc. breaking links to search text strings. May be wrong on this I am not an expert on the workings of search engines. Mike
My request was to lengthen the time to edit the first post’s title, and apparently our forum software can do that. I don’t see a downside to extending that time substantially.
I do see Pipeline’s point as well, that opening up the first post’s content to unlimited edits would allow updates to be all in one place.

We've increased the edit time to a week for normal users. Also, we might add a [Mark as resolved] button, which would allow you to mark the post as solved with one click (i.e. automatically append the word [Resolved] to the subject of the first post.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
