This is either REAL easy and I'm just being stupid or impossible. Have a Waves instrument that I'd like to load into BiaB. Have found the .dll file under X86 but it won't load to replace sforzando. Other VST's will load, just not Waves. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong directory? Hmmm. Not expecting much, but thanks for the look! Ron

DC Ron, look in your vst folders in both 64 and 32 bit programs folders for something call waveshell-something (they names after waveshell vary). This is the dll that will load the bundles you have.
Also note that most waves products are effects, NOT instruments, so you can not replace your sforzando with an effect. You can only replace a VSTi like sforzando with another VSTi like Cakewalk's TTS-1. Not the i stands for instrument in VSTi. Without the i, a VST, it is an effect. Are you sure that the waves' product you have is a VSTi?
I hope this helps and good luck.
Ps - I do not use waves in BiaB so this is as far as I can take you. I use Sonar as my DAW. You may be better off using RealBand but I don't know for sure.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware
Mario, thanks for the tips, will look at this again, but won't overwork it. I mix in Sonar as well, just wanted to try Waves new Rhapsody Grand on some piano supertracks to see how they sound together in BiaB. Have been moving BiaB midi supertracks over to sonar and plugging in the instrument, which works but is slower for trying different tracks. More to do!

Well, I'm walking away from this for now. Tried both techniques in post #3 link, and even tried the VST Wrapper Builder. Can get a menu of "wrapped" Waves VST files, but they won't load in BiaB. Might circle back to this if it really becomes a need to have and not a nice to have. Thanks again to all who responded...

I was going to download a Waves Instrument demo and see if I can get it to work, but by past experience it is a real hassle to install and register. I will see how I go for time and enthusiasm and might try again.
Pipeline, thanks for the interest. I've wasted enough time on this, please don't go overboard. Was thinking SOMEBODY has this working. The new Waves piano VSTi is really nice...

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
