In BIAB 2017, the Real Tracks Picker listed 13 tracks as N/A. I upgraded to BIAB 2018 on top of 2017 and now all 13 tracks are available. In BIAB 2018, however, the Real Tracks Picker lists 24 tracks as N/A. None of these tracks are in 2017 so I assume they are new in 2018. Does anyone know what causes this issue and how I can make the 24 N/A tracks available in 2018?

Did you purchase any of the bonus PAKs? There were numerous RealTracks included in the 49 PAK.

Is it possible that the "free bonus" tracks are simply NA? It's one of the many confusing things about seeing "free" and "Bonus" as one and the same. Some 2018 tracks may have been part of other paks, depending on which option one chooses. (Pro, Ultra, etc.) Searching for simplicity could yield some benefits here. And the recent "sale" of real tracks additions which ended on the 25th (advertised on the website) was made all the more confusing by the lack of clarity as to which of the versions (Pro etc) could utilize them.

Dell XPS 8900, Intel I7-6700 @4GZ, 24GB Ram.64 bit system. Win 10.

Sonar Platinum, Studio One 3.5 Pro, Blue Yeti Mic, JBL spkrs.

Hi,

The ~24 RealTracks mentioned are part of the 49PAK (not free) bonus PAK.

I had exactly the same problem (and same number of N/A) including 2 tracks that are marked (RT Folder) This evidently means that the .ST2 file exists but the track folder is missing.

I got the same answer as provided by Andrew.

However, I do not think this is an appropriate answer.

I ran the download manager it confirms that I am not missing anything that I am qualified for - i.e. paid for
The ‘ADD ONS’ report shows I do not have two soloist sets - i.e. I didn't buy them. And no where are they flagged as N/A (as far as I can see)

It seems logical that this report could show that I do not have the 49-PAK Real Tracks.

The tracks that are now showing as N/A would then be eliminated from the tracks report,

Any tracks identified as N/A would be then an error of some kind.

Andrew,
OK that explains it. But how does the Real Tracks Picker even know these tracks 'exist' if the 49 Bonus PAK is not installed? Should I assume that on any future upgrades the N/A tracks are in another PAK I didn't buy and not a track that just didn't install properly? How can I tell the difference?
Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

On the very bottom, left corner of Realtrack picker there's an option to "Show Realtracks that are N/A". It sounds like this is active on your system.

With future upgrades, make a note of what Realtrack numbers (or sets of Realtracks) come with the upgrade. It's then very easy to check these.

Also, if you log-in into your sales account, go to My Products and scroll down a bit, you'll find all the sets of Realtracks that you've purchased.

Hope this helps,
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
