When I hover over the "Memo" button I get a message saying that if a Memo is present, the word "memo" will turn blue.
Mine doesn't.
Does anyone else's?

(Win10/BB021/815)

Cheers,
Keith

Nothing I could do would make the Memo button turn Blue (but I turned Red trying grin )

And I'm green with envy that you can see colors eek

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

It doesn't work in 2019 either
The hover text says it will turn blue, but there is no mention of it in the help text or the manual.

Sounds like it might have been in an old version but dropped in later versions. I do seem to remember it working in a previous version

Guys, no one has noticed or cared enough to mention this broken feature in over 2 years. Let it go. Much bigger fish to fry smile

I agree Dan, there are lots of other issues with the release, but when you buy something, it should work as described.

I'm only trying to point out a bug.
BTW, I did mention it on this forum last year.

Of course you are correct Keith. I am afraid I have become a bit calloused on all these programming issues, both minor and major. crazy

It may be interesting to know, that while I have retired in the past year I still do contract work for my past clients as a consultant. This past week I took on a job to develop and "code" an Excel Spreadsheet for a drug dispensary. Simple spreadsheet to calculate how much drug needs to be weighed to produce a final product to the proper concentration. First we agreed upon the URS/FSR (user and functional requirement specs) then the DS (design specs). I met all requirements and sent the draft for review. All good, but then they wanted a bit more. OK, no problem, I can do that. But then they wanted more. Can you put this here and that there? Can it be this color and change colors based on conditions. OK, third draft sent. Now they realize that they have been doing it wrong all along so we need to add new corrections. Long story short, this reminded me of BIAB. Things can spiral out of control when we try to do too much.

But what does this have to do with anything? Sorry, its 1:25am and I can't sleep tonight. sleep

The business model, of pushing out a Beta under the guise of an early bird discount and of cashing in by releasing a new version annually, is broken. The company seems unable to catch up on the last iteration's issues before pushing out the next. I don't have an answer for the cash flow but on a sales level having a "working" version would attract & retain custom.

I too would prefer to see new releases being able to 'hit the ground running' with a better reliability factor.

Historically, they seem to always be a work in progress. Often they also contain previously 'fixed' items that are now broken again.

I agree that this is not an ideal release model. Regression testing and more thorough pre-release testing would be beneficial.

Importantly, I have absolutely total respect for the developers, (Blake, Andrew et al). I'm sure they are working frantically in a very challenging environment to deliver their requirements.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
