How to activate Band-in-a-Box:
1. If your computer is connected to the internet: Open Band-in-a-Box, click on the Help menu, then click "Activate Band-in-a-Box". In the window that appears, enter your 24 digit activation code and then click Activate.
- If your copy of Band-in-a-Box came on a DVD, your activation code can be found on the back flap of the envelope that contained disc 1.
- If your copy of Band-in-a-Box shipped on a flash drive/hard drive, the activation code is found on the back of the flash drive/hard drive itself.
2. If your computer isn't connected to the internet: Follow the steps above, and when you click Activate, you'll get an automatic Activation Error message, telling you that there was a problem activating your software online. Click OK on that message and another window will appear - giving you a request number.
If you then contact us directly by phone, chat, or email, give us your serial number as well as that request number, and let us know that you need to do a manual activation, we'll be happy to generate an Activation Code.
Once you've received that manual activation code from us, click on Manual Activation, enter the Activation Code, and click Activate, and your software is ready to be used.
Most Common Activation Issues
- Your Band-in-a-Box serial number allows 3 activations by default. If a message appears telling you that you've exceeded your maximum number of allowed activations, please contact us directly and we can add more. If you purchased Band-in-a-Box from a third party, you may be asked to provide proof of purchase.
- If you see the error message Some features are disabled. Menu-Help-Activation to activate. Program is not activated. Reason is: The license is blocked for use on this computer:
Go to Help – Utilities – Special Options for Activation/Deactivation, and select Unblock. You'll be given a Request Number and Block Code. If you then contact us by phone, chat, or email with those numbers, we'll generate the Unblock Code you need.
- If you see the error message Some features are disabled. Menu-Help-Activation to activate. Program is not activated. Reason is: You can only use this copy of the program on one computer:
Close Band-in-a-Box, navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Ticket folder on your computer's hard drive, and delete every file with the word Ticket in its name. Next, launch Band-in-a-Box and you'll be asked whether you want to restore the deleted license. Choose No, and proceed to activate normally.
