BIAB shuts down when I try to open some files in my personal folders (by any route). BIAB no longer remembers that my files are stored in my Music folder and on re-opening reverts to the BIAB App and "Songs". Files which came with the BIAB package are still accessible and will open. A new file created yesterday will also open. Otherwise I cannot see any pattern in which files will open and which won't.

Update. Have reinstalled BIAB on desktop. Have checked BIAB on laptop where it is all working fine. Re-cloned files from laptop and transferred them to desktop where they have the same problem as before.

What changed between the last time it worked and now?
What is going on in Console.app when the shut down occurs?

I upgraded (only on desktop) to BIAB Mac 2018, but got impatient with it and switched back to 2015 version. I think it could date back to then. (Don't use BIAB much on desktop...)

I don't work for PG Music/BIAB. Because you posted this in the Mac FAQ section, someone else had to alert me that this was even here. If you take this to the Band-in-a-Box for Macintosh pages, then I'll be likely to see it. https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=39&page=1As it is, Console isn't telling me much except that you have a game interface or controller app that may or may not be getting in the way. I would disable those drivers first then try to reinstall 2018 and see what happens. There are other threads on the other board about the time it can take to install BIAB. Take a look at those. Other than being impatient, you've provided no details that would let anyone take an educated guess.

Hey - so to clarify it is the 2015 you are running, NOT the 2018? If you go to Band-in-a-Box | About Band-in-a-Box what is the 3 digit number in brackets, also?
And, what OS is running on your computer?
Cheers, Deryk

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
