Have been reading the FAQ 6; What are the differences between RealBand, Band-in-a-Box, and PowerTracks Pro Audio?
I can not seem to find if RealBand offers the "Ouput Chords" (via MIDI to e.g. VoiceWorks) as BiaB does.
Hope to hear from someone who knows.

I could not find that information either, so hopefully someone will come along with the real answer. In the mean time I do know you can send midi to the Voiceworks, as I have been trying to learn this over the last two days. What i do is to 1. clone a midi track in the song to send to VW on a separate channel, or 2. pick a style and ask RB to generate a midi track of either piano or guitar for VWs, or 3. simply use the scalic mode in Vws and have RB send the root note so it will in key and let VW do the heavy lifting.

Just send one of the tracks to it set to the same midi channel.

If you plan to send a random midi track to the vocal processor while using a chordal patch, be aware that if the track plays a pattern that includes a lot of passing notes, the vocal processor will change keys to match each note. (for example, a G note sets the chordal harmony to G, etc... it doesn't have to be a full chord. You'll probably hate that if the track is firing a lot of individual notes
I've had good luck sending the string track to Voiceworks because on most styles the strings are sustained chords, exactly what you want for a vocal processor

I used to make my own track with a keyboard. I would just send a triad in root position as a stab. Then I'd do it again if the chord changed. That's all that's needed. pat's right . Don't use complex chords. That's the nice thing about the way BIAB does it. Sorry about the short answer before. I was heading out the door.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
