Hi All

With Don moving to somewhere where there may not be internet access,I thought I would post this
little tune we did a while back.

Don,I do hope you remember it,I play it quite often and I thought it fitting that
I post it here one more time, hope you don't mind.

The link does work,it's just a bit slow.

Thanks for listening.

Alan

Straight to the keeper file.

Excellent job gentlemen!

I love it. Great guitar and vox. That kind of haunting Orbison sound just perfect for the song. Glad you shared.

Great assessment Josie, I too hear a bit of the Orbison touch on this tune.

Nice job guys!

Hi Guys

Thanks for the kind comments,I know Don would appreciate them.

Don,I checked up on when we did this and to my amazement it was 1995,I didn't
think it was so long ago but I think it has stood the test of time quite well.

Take care my friend and keep safe.

Best Wishes Always

Alan

Hi Don and Alan,

What a great song! I have never heard this one before and it was a real pleasure to hear it. I'm really glad you posted this song. It's excellent. Hard to believe that the mix is 15 years old. It still fits very comfortably on these forums.

You've got my standing ovation
Noel

the song tag says 2005 so alan may be wrong on the date.

josie, to be compared to roy orbison, even tangentially, is a great honor and thrill, thank you. elvis called roy 'the greatest male vocalist ever' and i agree.

years ago.

Nice cover Alan. I like it well enough that I'm going to add your recording to my collection of others who have covered this old Hank Williams song.

Hank Williams senior

Faron Young had a pretty good version also.

Jerry Lee Lewis (Probably my favorite version)

Thanks...

Hi JBlatz

Many thanks for the kind comments,I have listened to all the versions
through the links you posted and I have to say, I like em all.

It's nice to know you think our version is good enough to stand alongside some
of the finest artists who have recorded this song, and we are priveledged
to be associated with them.
I know Don would agree.

Thanks again

Don,
I apologize for failing to include a congratulation for your quality vocal on this track. While reading this post yesterday, I was also babysitting a young'un and sometimes the two do not mix very well. In this case I overlooked the fact that you sang the tune. Again I apologize. By the way, I think you also have a Rodney Crowell type of smoothness in your voice. Give a listen to one of his old tunes like "Stars on the Water" to hear that similarity of smoothness.

Wow! I almost missed this one. That's a great song. I remember when Hank Williams came out with that one. I was a little dude back then. I used to love to listen to his stuff on the radio.

I agree with you Don. Anything with Alan accompanying is going to be top floor in my book. Good job Mates.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
