Happy Canada Day to all and sundry.

From the land of Maple Syrup, Oil Reserves, and the source of about a billion bucks a day shipped to the USA.

Where our cops still have mounts, and where there are more mosquitoes and black flies than people.

Where there are lots of musicians because you can't go outside much of the year so when you get tired of sitting/laying you pick up your fiddle and scrape.

Where we say eh and use quaint expressions.

Where we send our hockey players to other teams so one group of Canucks can beat another group of Canucks.

Where a hockey sweater is formal wear.

Where our suntans come from Cuba.

Where PGmusic is changing the face of one 'man' acts, and jazzers and country fans stick their tongues out at each other in good fun.

And where we take our baked beans with Maple Syrup, which is also put on ribs, chicken, ice cream and snow.

And where the Queen still rules, albeit on our own terms.

So Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks who are going to light fireworks, go to concerts, and kick back to celebrate our independence, the beaver, and the leaf and where the Hockey Night in Canada theme is really the anthem we can all relate to the best. Only 2 months until it snows, so here's to summer, in the True North Strong and Free. (Just add 15% HST)

Happy Canada Day to all of my Canadian friends.

From one avid hockey fan.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

I remember being on tour in Canada in July once and we did not play July 1 because of the holiday. Of course we DID play July 4th, OUR holiday. And just because, our singer decided to pull out Springsteen's "Sandy", subtitled 4th of July, Asbury Park. The crowd knew the song and our singer did a long intro about being on the road during maybe THE most family centric holiday. And when we finished the song, there was not a dry eye on the stage or in the room.

Happy Holiday, my Canuckian friends!!! I really miss playing up there, eh!

Happy Canada Day from the Nation's capital, Ottawa. Sunny, blue skies all day.

John - well said, I couldn't have said it anywhere near as well or with as much flare.
PS: - If I could add:
Where 80% of us are NOT bilingual.
Where the national drink is Tim Horton's coffee . . . next to beer.

Well wishes appreciated from our American neighbours.

William and Kate are visiting the city and will be afoot on the city's streets
today - the streets have been closed for an expected quarter million or more citizens
heading downtown to Parliament Hill for the big shew later tonight, and with hopes
of seeing the future king and his loverly new bride.

If you're interested in learning, seeing more about their visit, and the party downtown - check

Ottawa was my FAVORITE city up there. Looked forward to the week in Ottawa every trip. And with Hull right across the river, by Thursday we were anxious to LEAVE Ottawa so we could get some rest.... We would finish playing at the Talisman Motor Lodge at 1am and before the cymbals were done ringing we were in cars heading to Hull where we stayed at the clubs until they ran out of beer, and then had breakfast on the way back to the hotel.

I remember going for breakfast and asking for iced tea. The waitress told me they didn't have iced tea. I smiled and said "I'll share the recipe like how we do it in the states. You make a double strong cup of tea, and then take some ice. Combine the two....." Everybody at the table thought it was funny. The waitress muttered something in French and walked away. And I know enough French to know that she had inferred that my parents had never married.... LOL!!

Once again, Happy Holiday to everybody up North. Get oot and enjoy your day, eh!

I knew Canada Day was essentially independence day for our northern friends but I looked it up anyway and got this little blurb from Wikipedia that spells it out a little better, although briefly:

Quote:

Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), is the national day of Canada, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united three British colonies into a single country, called Canada, within the British Empire. Originally called Dominion Day, the name was changed in 1982, the year that Canada gained full independence from the United Kingdom. Canada Day observances take place throughout Canada as well as internationally.

So happy Canada Day guys and gals. I hope you enjoy the festivities that have no doubt already started.

I've been to Canada many times, Yukon, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador. (Almost got to PEI but ran out of both time and money on that trip and had to go home - spent more time than I planned enjoying Newfoundland).

What I like best about Canada, are the Canadians. I was always treated as a welcome guest by some of the most hospitable, polite, warm and friendly people on the planet. Here's to you!!!

Someone mentioned Tim Horton's Coffee - yep, and their oat cakes too!!!

There is only one thing I didn't like about Canada, the climate (I'm a tropical kind of guy). If it wasn't so cold, I might be tempted to move there

We just came back from a 2 week east coast tour and spent 7 nights in Canada (Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Niagara Falls. We saw a great dinner show in Niagara Falls called Oh Canada, Eh? Excellent performers, costumes, etc. Another treat was a baroque music rehearsal at the Basillica in Montreal.

We were not there for Canada Day, though. The Canadians were such great hosts to our mixed tour of UK'rs, Aussies, Indians, and just 6 Americans out of 44 total persons. The wonderful people we met was the highlight of the tour for us.

I'll just say it now.....HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
