They announced that the US/Canadian border is now closed to all except essential traffic. Foodstuffs will flow normally as, I assume, will medical supplies.

I have never seen this before.

I have a new aide today who is admittedly sick and coughing into her sleeve yet allowed to feed me. I have very little hope of surviving this virus.

wow Don... I don't even know what to say.

You might ask if she has a runny nose. From what I hear, if one of the symptoms is runny nose, then its not Covid-19

It might set your mind at ease. Or not, depending on her response.

Don, speak to the management immediately.

Have her tested and if she tests positive, get early treatment.

COVID-19 or not she is violating infection control protocols. I'd contact management and if no quick response then the appropriate licensing agency. FWIW, for years I was the nursing home administrator of 149 bed facility that served the developmentally disabled; however, the infection protocols we used would be the same for any clients.

Also, Donny contact a lawyer.

I'm not a lawsuit crazy person, but if they are indeed endangering your life, this needs to stop NOW.

If it's just allergies, have it verified and make sure she lets everyone know, "It's just an allergy."

But find out soon.

Good luck,
Bob

As for the original statement/question, the US/Canada border is not "closed". I am a Canadian, wintering in Arizona. The current status of land border crossings by vehicles is unchanged, i.e. most are open, with significant wait times.

We were just contacted by the Canadian Gov't Travel dept. and asked to "register" our trip, which we have done. There was no mention of a timeline or deadline as to when we need to be back in Canada.

We had to provide a "destination departure date", after which they will assume we have returned home.

It's somewhat comforting to know they were on top of things to even know we were here. The only info we provided was our passports to the US Border Patrol when we entered the US back in Nov 2019. It's obvious that the 2 border patrol agencies share traveler information.

Hooray for neighbours that get along!!

Small package,

Joanne loves you through my eyes.

Just moments ago:

Donny,

From one who has seen the way that facility is operated 1st hand on numerous occasions I share your concerns my friend. But I also know you are not one to shy away from making waves when you have to (as well you have to dealing with the cards you are dealt) so by all means keep them on their toes and let me know if I should make any calls or write any emails in your behave.

Stay Safe!

Danny,

It's great with you and Linda covering my posterior but my kids ripped management a new anal aperture and sphincter muscle last weekend. There seem to be slight improvements noted.

My youngest, Dennis, who lives in Austin, is an easy drive from me and has them on their toes and checks in with me every day to ensure that they are meeting their part of the agreement.

I knew that you kids would be in my corner. If it comes to letters to corporate, I will definitely call on you two as eye-witnesses to what abuses go on here.

Thank you, dear friends.

Thanks for the vindication. I heard the same closure announcements twice again today. The media seems to be on different pages.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
