This was just the first attempt. I can see how this sort of thing could be used in a music video for youtube.

THe blue strat was just an accident...lol

Hey, you need to post that in the AI forum. LOL. That looks pretty cool. I'm sure you'll be able to generate video from these in the near future.

while we're on this topic.. I went to CHATGPT today and made a query asking for song lyrics consisting of two verses and a chorus on a particular topic, including a phrase I thought was interesting enough to be hooky. I was impressed by the results. For my use, it didn't flow the way I wanted, but a few tweaks here and there made 90% of it work. I'll be doing that again.

I was amused by the disclaimer at the end criticizing me for my choice in hooky phrases. Considering that the AIs database is derived from social media, its learned world view is pretty "woke". My name is probably on a list now so that I can be retroactively prosecuted years from now when one of the words in my request is deemed to be unacceptable and illegal.

Thanks, Steve. I had little to do with it. If I had to survive on paintings I could not afford to live under a bridge...lol Certainly not in my set of skills.

Looking around on the internet for photos/illustrations I found all that stuff to be very expensive and many legal issues concerning copyright.

To be able to produce usable images for little or nothing in seconds is a big deal to me.

I have messed around with Blender a bit to produce images but that is a very large learning curve. How much time, money and effort does a person want to expend to get visually interesting images to post a song on BIAB? Some people go to a lot of work to do that here. I enjoy looking at their youtube videos. I have a lot of responsibilities and not enough time.

That is hilarious stuff, Mr. Marr! The idea that an AI would take you to task over such a subjective subject and has obviously acquired a certain bias is beyond the pale...lol Having never been nominated for the politically correct poster boy award, I assume I may be on more than one list...lol

I was going to try it but they don't allow virtual phone numbers to validate and I don't ever sign up for things with my real information. I have a list of fake names, addresses, and virtual phone numbers for stuff like that. Every place your name and info are on the web, you are one breach away from having your identity stolen. Too bad they are like that because I'd love to try it.

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?
2. Send it to us.

regarding your original post about AI generated art:
I went down that rabbit hole a few months ago on my son's recommendation. He showed me some art that looked comparable to anything a talented commercial artist might create. Although my queries yielded some interesting graphics, they were NOTHING like the images I had seen as examples.

Apparently the trick is in being very specific in your request. Looking back, I have to think the query that yielded such an amazing result might have included the condition "in the style of .. (insert artists name here)"

Its all very interesting though. We haven't seen the end of this yet.

regarding the use of AI generated anything in order to avoid paying for the right to use somebody else's copyright protected work:

The output informed me that what I got was original, but I wasn't allowed to use it commercially. So much for using it to get free graphics.

It is good we can laugh about all this Steve. There are generally very few problems with eye surgery but...one never knows. I hope we get to meet in person in NC.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
