Forte is DXi, not VSTi
That might be a clue

Reaper sees and runs "DXi iZotope Ozone3" with no special effort, jsut click find DXi's. Reaper claims, Dx, Dxi, VST, VSTi and Rewire compatibility. No RTAS.

Ozone3 is a DXi?

I have Ozone4 and it is an effect, not insrtument.
I know Reaper claims supporrt for all those formats, but there are not many DXi (instruments) compared to VSTi.
You would think it would be easier to make work since DXi registers itself.

Maybe wht the original poster is asking is simpler: How to invoke a DX, any DX, in Reaper?

plotzie.
i dont use forte'..but ..
1. make sure you scan for dx in rpr preferences.
after installing forte.
2. clik fx button on rpr trak brings up fx browser.
3. on left hand side of fx browser clik on dxi.
do you see forte' listed in display ??
if not try installing forte' into the reaper directory in windows
and see if that works instead of installing to forte's own dir.

REAPER Compatibility thread states that the Reaper 64bit is not compatible with 32bit DXi. Perhaps one could try the REAPER 32 Bit version to see if it recognizes the DXi. BTW, the reaper thread is starting to get some hits withthis input. A couple of BIIAB/RB folks over there at times

The Ozone plugin is a final master effect. But it titles itself and appears in the DXi folder.

I thought it was boasting of the ability to run 32 bit FX in 64 bit version (?) That was a selling point I was thinking about using to justify getting it ..
maybe if rerouted to another system?

Here is what they are saying,

"...unlike the 64/32 bridge that is built into Reaper 64 for VST/VSTi, there's no bit-bridge for directx plugins - reaper x64 can only load 64 bit directx plugs, and since it's a dead format for audio fx finding any of those isn't very likely".

So why my Dxi Isotope Ozone 3, is working I don't know, since due to its age I assume it is a 32 bit, but I am not complaining. However, this may explain why no Forte Dxi. Not a big problem for me since 95% of my Reaper projects as pure audio and the little bit of Midi is easily handled by many other virual instruments (VSTi, such as the free EWQL Symphonic and Kore Player).

I have used the trial version of Forte Dxi in Reaper. It does not appear in 64 bit reaper as stated above. It appears in 32 bit Reaper on win 7. The only thing is that the settings (assignment of sounds to midi channels) are not saved with the project...... The trial version is supposed to be fully functioning, so that is probably not the cause.... Still looking for a solution before I buy this plugin.

The Forte DXi is not a 64-bit application; it just happens to be one of the 32-bit DXi applications that work in Windows 7 64-bit.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
