Just an FYI and I have zero interest in this mfg., site, or developer. Just saw they have sale until 5 Sep so thought I’d mention.

This is a very specialized sound so unlikely to peak interest of more than just a few folks but If you are looking for a really good Rhodes (Suitcase) there is an outstanding one called “Neo-Soul Keys Original Suitcase Library” for the Kontakt free player (works with the more expensive “not free” Kontakt player as well ) $59 until 5 Sep.

There is also a three pack (Suitcase, Stage (Mk I), and Wurli) for $149 until 5 Sep demos for the Kontakt:

http://neosoulkeys.com/

some live demos

http://neosoulkeys.com/suitcase/

To get more complete sense of the nuance and sound that is possible and the PLAYABILITY don’t just listen to the Kontakt demo – WATCH all the Motif XS/XF demos (Motif versions are EXTRACTS of the bigger Kontakt version so you really get a sense of sound palette).

Go to bottom of page and watch the SECOND video first (skip some info/intro goto about 4 mins in)

http://neosoulkeys.com/motif/

I’ve been on the lookout, for a VERY long time, for ONE really good Rhodes (I have all the Roland SRX and SR-JV cards, all the Motif add-on keys lib’s, some classic Alesis add-ons, some Korg EP libs, a bunch of vintage sampler sets, EP add-ons for Dimension Pro, a bunch of general $$ and free VSTi EP’s (e.g., SoniVox Suitcase, etc.) but this is now my favorite Rhodes (installed on Motif XS but played via Fusion’s 88 weighted keys) .

The SoniVox EP is only $29 (a $30 delta while sale is on at Gospelmusican) but not in same league at that price in MY opinion - and only my opinion.

again just for your situation awareness (FYSA)

Or you could buy a Rhodes......

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?
2. Send it to us.

ditto for pianos: just go buy a full concert Steinway, Bösendorfer, Yamaha grand, Stradivari (“fiddles”) original ‘50s Blonde LP or '59 Strat, orignal Fretless P-bass, etc.

Edit - actually that was a '50's Gold Top LP (a 50's blonde was something else but don't tell wife)

Larry, another option is emulations of vintage electromechanical keyboards like those from genuine soundware. All of their EP emulations are excellent with nuance that is difficult to do with samples. Both Rhodes and surly emulations are available http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=27

Appreciate input but obviously I buried the lead too deep in the “story” and point got lost.
I was simply pointing out a SALE of a good Rhodes virtual instrument- take it or leave it.

I was not, and am not, looking for a ANY PC versions. I got what I was looking for (something for use IN/on an actual board, any of my boards - sans an actual Rhodes).

Got one. Suitcase 88 w/full Dyno-My-Rhodes install, rosewood hammers, 4 JBL 12" in the bottom, hotrodded power amps.

Um, you gonna carry it for me?

And tune the tines?

Oops, 'nother tine just broke, install a new one for me, 'K?

Didn't think so.

Sorry about that - didn't realize you were looking for something to actually carry around inside your motif. If you ever do want to use a vsti, the GSI stuff is right up there and I think better than most of the expensive stuff. They are math simulations, not sample sets. Very well done EP and B3 emulations.

And a set of electronic and instrument techs to keep everything running. Note that there are some A-list musicians in LA, Nashville, and New York who actually do this . . .

Copy all and I really do appreciate it, as I am sure others do as well for info/insight.

I WILL look at these anyway and again thanks.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
