Here's a project I finished in June of 2010. It's a song I wrote to my Dad after he passed away, right before I started my senior year of high school. I'd only sung the song a few times over the years, mostly for family, but last June I decided to record it in honor of what would have been my Dad's 106th birthday! (He was 57 when I was born) Plus I knew my Sisters would like to have a copy. It's a special song to me and turned out to be a lot harder to record (sing) than I thought it would be... My emotions kept getting the better of me. But anyway... Perseverance paid off and I got 'er done. Hope you enjoy. All tracks are RT's except the guitar intro & outro and guitar licks between verses. I really like how the fiddle track works in this song too. Oh and I recently re-mixed it in Reaper and I think it's cleaner than the original mix I did. Hi Greg,
Your song is a wonderful tribute to your dad. The arrangement is terrific and the mix is, as you say, very clean. I, too, love the way the violins fit into the mix. I have just begun experimenting with Reaper as a consequence of you and others in these forums. It's a brilliant program and my understanding of Sonar translates extremely well. I can't believe the price for such a sensational audio workshop.
Thanks for posting your work.
Best regards, Noel

He will be smiling with pride.
Well done

Hello Greg, Super song and a great tribute to your dad. The mix was excellent. I loved the fiddle and use of the guitars. Your vocal presentation fit perfectly and showed your feeling for your father. Good work! Marty

It’s all been said so all I can add is WOW!
This is one outstanding tribute to your dad. This is one amazing arrangement. It has a strong chord progression, super mixing, very fine guitar sounds and chops and one very strong vocal.
Two thumbs up.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I take my place in the accolades line, Greg - I'm really glad I listened. I liked the clarity and space - it makes it easier for these dead ears to get the most out of the hearing aids. Some uptempo User posts I have trouble with, so I don't respond because there is too much going on musically. But this was just right for me. I got the full experience. Quote:

I put the quote above because I wanted to let you know I felt the same way listening. Very touching. Fiddle was a wonderful addition. Good work.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
