Just A Dream ” is a song PSR has been working on for a couple of months now. It started as the BiaB country ballad style and was morphed into this. SteveS is the singer, BobH is finger picking the main nylon guitar rhythm while I’m playing the harmony finger picked nylon guitar, the bass and the electric guitar lead. I either modified or wrote the remaining parts.

We hope you like it.

The lyrics:

Just a Dream

I just met the sweetest girl
The prettiest I've ever seen
And she thinks I'm a special guy
Or is this just a dream

Many times I've felt a spark
But this feels like a flame
And now that I've seen your smile
Things won't be the same

*** chorus ***
You came to me on a summer day
So often in my mind
And now that I've touched your hand
Will you stay by my side
Or is this just a dream
I hope it’s not a dream

The day will come-will say I do
And look in each other’s eyes
The reflections there-they will change
But you'll stay by my side

Funny how we just met
And all of this is new
Love at first sight is not a myth
It’s happening with you

--- chorus ---
You came to me on a summer day
So often in my mind
And now that I've touched your hand
Will you stay by my side
Or is this just a dream

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hey Mario,

Very nice. I like.
Adding the extra reverb to the vocal at certain spots was a nice touch.
Good job guys.
PSR, is that your band?

Tim

MarioD,
Very cool effects. One would say "dream-like." Well done.

Thanx Tim for listening and the very kind review.

PSR is an acronym for Pumping Station Road. Two guitarist and a lyricist, all high friends from way back with two now being brother-in-laws, have been writing songs and playing a family camp fires for years. About three years ago we hooked up and they come over every Sunday for recording. Well that is supposed to be the reason as many Sundays we just have a few beers and listen to music and/or talk. Every once in a while we record something

Great song MarioD! Like all your other productions: very well performed and produced. The effect on the vocals creates a dreamy feeling!

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Nice song Mario.

Does it use Band-in-a-Box or RealBand? People reading this forum are expecting to see what track(s) are using BB or RealBand, or at least be told clearly that they are or aren't using these programs.
If using BB or RealBand, please mention what RealTracks #s, or style names.

If posting a song that isn't using BB or RealBand, please post to the Off-Topic forum.

Have Fun!

Hi Peter,

This song, as most all of my songs, started in BiaB using the “country ballad” style. Then it was, as again most all of my songs are, exported to Sonar. The midi guitar and bass parts were replaced with real people (RPs I call them ). The midi drums were slightly reworked to better fit the song. The midi strings were highly modified and divided into individual string parts.

I am assuming that original songs that start in BiaB then exported and reworked in Sonar or any other DAW are supposed to be posted here. If this is wrong please advise.

Thanx for listening.

Mario,

That really sounds nice, especially the beers and getting together and talking. LOL.

Mario,

This is a nice song. I agree, I wish it had a little more of your lead guitar. But that's probably a good thing. Keep 'em asking for more!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
