Once again, Eddie has bravely given us a completely free hand to interpret one of his songs. Let me say first of all, that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the excellent demo that Eddie sent us, but we DO like to mess around with things! For a start, we moved the key from "D" to "A" which meant we couldn't use his backing tracks. Then we changed his heavier track into a more country pop feel with more than a touch of surfing as the song progressed. If you want to see how many vocals we put in there's a screenshot here.Credits go to Andy Paine for the lead vocal and to Josh Kenyon, ROG and Rob Quick for the Chorus and backing vocals. The guitars are by ROG and the bass by Alex Richards. Of course it was all recorded in the wonderful PowerTracks DAW. The song is at - https://soundcloud.com/music-prof/good-things-comeMany thanks to Eddie for providing the great song for us to work on. ROG.

I LOVE that Beach Boy feel during the solo section.
Puts me in mind of "round round git around I get around...."
Man, these kids can sing!!
It's a real pleasure to see what the UK side of "the team" does to my songs. This is 5 or 6 they have touched so far and not done me wrong yet. From the first one where the girls added BGV (What If It Was Love - then again on I'm The One), to then one of them (Jess) reaching out to do a solo (The One That Got Away), to then another (Courtney) agreeing to my request that she do one (Believe) that turned out GREAT, and yet another by the last remaining girl (Ellie) that is in progress (From A Distance), and now the pop-surf rendition of Good Things Come, I am absolutely grateful and blessed to have this great stable of performing and production talent not only available to me but happy to do my stuff! Awesome.
When any of us started this game, was it even a distant concept to have a writer on one side of the Atlantic have his stuff performed and produced by a group of people on the other side of the Atlantic? Man, send the files, load the files, work the files, send the files back, mix the files. Bang. Done.
I LOVE this here technology stuff!!

I hear the Eddie influence in the lyric, and can hear him singing it in my head. Nice job done here ROG. The whole mix is spot on! One of the good things that came from this project is this song. Bravo guys very nice.

Rob, when you hear me singing in your head, does your head's finger reach for the mute button? They did a great job. Man, that Josh can frickin' sing....

What a Corker. Excellent job from the Eddie's superb writing right through everything to the final Mix. The vibe did remind me a bit of The David Bowie's "Sorrow" - originally recorded by The McCoys in 1965. Yes - I AM that old! lol! That didnt take anything away from what is a superb track. Yeah, sure the guys can sing but I loved the guitars - full marks Rog. cheers ian

Congrats to Eddie, ROG and "da team".
I also hear a touch of motown here, you guys did a great job. OK just listening to Eddies "round round git around I get around" reference, and he is spot on.
Later,

That takes me straight back to about 1964/5 and I expected Alan "Fluff" Freeman (BBC Radio DJ from the 1960's) to say something as the song ended. The chorus hangs around as well as I am humming it as I type. Thank you as it got Psycho Killer by Talking heads out of that spot Good retro sound Alyn

Well, I graduated from high school in 1963 and was a stone beach boy fanatic from the get go. There was no way I couldn't like this. Great job!

Hey, thanks for listening, everyone - it's good to know that there are still so many Beach Boys fans out there. We really had so much fun doing this one.
Most of the BVs were done by Josh and I sitting facing each other with a mic each and headphones, so we could sync the voices better. As the track count increased and it got more and more like the Beach Boys, we couldn't sing for laughing. When Rob Quick put the baritones in, we fell off the chairs.
I've just got to talk to Eddie about doing some more of this stuff. Get writing, my old pal!
ROG.

Hi Rog,
Congratulations on an extremely well arranged and very tightly produced song. Everyone involved has distinguished themselves! It's a great sound you've captured. Eddie should be proud of this song.
All the best, Noel

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
