I wanted to make a choir with Vocaloid Avanna. After two days of work with Carl Orff's Carmina Burana I found out that he died only in 1982. As I didn't want to wait until 2052 (as you can understand) I fell back to my old friend J.S. Bach and took
"Nimm, was dein ist, und gehe hin" ("Take what is yours and go away"), the Concerto from the Cantata BWV 144.
Strings Garritan
Upright Bass Garritan
Vocals: 12 x Vocaloid Avanna + Avanna Soloist
As a native speaker I can say that Avanna has no accent at all.
Realtracks:
RealDrums-JazzShuffle^3-SideStick,Ride
752_ Bass, Acoustic, Jazz BeBop Sw
755_ Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Jazz BeBop Sw
1073_ Guitar, Electric, Rhythm SmoothJazzCool
723_Sax, Soprano, Soloist Samba Ev

Guenter, that's just wonderful. I wonder what Bach would have thought?

Today Bach, tomorrow Wagner?

This is simply fantastic. One would never guess that this was BiaB based!

Two thumbs up for your sound source and creativity!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

now I know how I will die: gasping for breath in amazement while one of Guenter's masterpieces blows me away in the background!

Are you retired? If not how do you find time to do what you do??

Once again, I really am blown away. I don't even have words. well, except for these:

Guenter,

it's probably bad form to ask Houdini how his magic trick works... but I WOULD like to get a glimpse into what you go through to create something like this.

I'm guessing the voices and a lot of the parts are driven by MIDI, which could be rearrangements of standard MIDI files or your own playing.

Assuming that much is true, and knowing that your arrangements are nothing like any SMF I've ever found online, I have to conclude that you go to a lot of trouble to put the basic MIDI skeleton into a form that lets you add the other elements (such as real tracks)

Of all your songs so far, this is the closest to the original classical composition. In fact, up to 1:53 I'm guessing the song *IS* a SMF of the original work with patches replaced by modern instruments + Avanna. However, your transition from that foundation to what comes next is masterful and seamless!

The very idea of using synthetic voices to create a choir singing a classical work is very clever; but, that's what we've come to expect from you!

Hi Rog and Mario,

thanks for the nice comments.

Hi Pat,

yes, I'm finally retired after not being able to play a single chord for 10 years due to lack of time. Now I'm free (since July last year).
You have revealed the "secrets" yourself. It's just a lot of work.
Thank you for your very uplifting comments.

Hi Floyd,

thanks a lot for expanding my knowledge of positive words. I have never heard quixotic before. Especially like xellent.
I'm going to work on the xylophone-free version.

Hi Janice, Bud, Josie and Noel,

thanks for your kind words.

The English alphabet has been completely exhausted. So let's try the German alphabet:

anspruchsvoll
beeindruckende
erstaunlich
gefühlvoll
innovative
kraftvoll
logisch
meisterhaft
nachdenklich
schön
tiefe
umfassende
voller Energie
wegweisende
Zündstoff

Guenter, I'm sorry I couldn't get all of them. I just ran out of gas, but the tune is great!

Hello, Guenter !

I am as appalled as all
the rest ! This is outright heavenly
music by the master of masters !
Must be thrilling to have a womens´
chorus at your disposal whenever you
want it ! The swing reminded me partly
of The Swingle Singers, but this was
even more fantastic !:) I used to sing
Bach and Palestrina in our church choir
and I just loved it ! smile I bow my gray
head for you Gunter !:))

Cheers
Dani

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
