Aleck Rand wrote the lyrics and does the vocals.

Accompaniment is the unedited BIAB style BOOG40s 40s style boogie piano swing.

TICKLE TICKLE https://soundcloud.com/aleckrand/tickle-tickle

Lyrics to the Chorus (repeated after each verse)

Tickle tickle, scratch scratch
How do I cure this itchy rash?
I keep rubbing lotion in a circular motion
I don't want something my baby could catch

Verse 1

Camping with a bunch of friends
Made for great fun
We were hiking through the clover and vine
Drinking beer and feeling fine
Then my friend pointed down and said to me
I'm worried 'bout that vine
If I'm not mistaken, a rash will be breaking
You got poison ivy this time

Verse 2

Doctor, please examine me and say
You know the cure
Scratching in public view
Is not the thing to do
The location of this itch, my friend
Is just one more tabu
If my baby finds out, she'll throw me right out
And that's why I'm visiting you

Verse 3

Doctor, what do you suggest?
This is what he said
The favorite cure of mine
Is Love Potion #9
My love life's not the problem, Doc
That's been going fine
But if that's what you're thinking, then let me start drinking
I'll mix some with my wine

Verse 4

The ending to my story, friend
Is happy and sad
The rash is finally gone
But something else is going on
Love Potion has some side effects
I just prowl about
With my skin looking better I'm a real go-getter
But I tire my baby right out (Whiz Bang!)

Hi Dani,

In fact, you were the inspiration for this tune. After I heard your great vocal harmonies, I thought, "Damn! I should do something like that - I bet Dani would dig this." I had a feeling you'd be among the first to respond, and I'm really happy that you did like it.

Hi, Aleck !

You are most kind, my friend !:)
Yes, I did like it ! You know
Aleck, as probably most on this site
I am omnivorous (wonder if I got it right ?)
regarding various musical styles.
My flair for polyphonic music started
when my father came home from a trip
to South America (I think it was, could have been
North as well ?) and brought with him
this record by the Johnny Mann Singers
"Don´t Look Back" ! It struck a little boy like
a lightning bolt ! (chuckle) !!!

Should you ever have your ways past this remote
corner of the world, just call me !!!

Cheers
Dani

Hi Aleck,

I can hear what fun it was to make this song.
And it was fun to listen.
I didn't catch all the words though.
Lyrics would be appreciated.

I'm trying to determine if there was a certain amount of double entendre at work in the lyrics...?

Very clever

Thanks Guenter,

I'm glad you asked for lyrics. I had intended to post them, but I finished that tune in one day and, by the time I was done and had it posted, I was completely out of gas. Now, it's the next day and I'll get to it. You heard right when you heard how much fun it was to make.

Let me get to those lyrics.

Aleck

Hi Dani,

Certainly, your use of omnivorous (kaikkiruokainen?) was perfect. That's what I love about the Finnish language: It sounds like it could be spoken by an advanced civilization from another galaxy, that's how distant it seems from other European languages.

Another word for wide-ranging tastes is eclectic (eklektinen) but this is clearly a derived word.

Above all, your remarks - not just to me but other Forum members as well - are so kind. Thank you.

Aleck

PS You never know man. You may get that call. I've heard that in Finland the ladies chase the men, who tend to be somewhat reserved. Hey, sounds good to me!

THAT is amazing,
I can appreciate your skills with guitar, bass etc but Jazz usually is not my music of choice BUT this track IS!!!!!
My Dad's cousin played guitar in a Big Band and tried to show/teach me the skillz when I was a kid and I could almost hear his raspy voice saying "that is how you do it cariad" (cariad is welsh for my dear one)

Aleck,

A fun song and a perfect production for it. That backup group is delightful!
The "Love Potion #9" reference really took me back. It was the first record I ever owned - a 45 that came in a box of Corn Flakes - along with "This Diamond Ring" and "Little Old Lady From Pasadena"....

Keep it up!

Hi Aleck,

I doff my metaphorical hat to you smile These are some very clever lyrics set against a perfectly matching mix. Congratulations on a very skillful effort! It was a pleasure to listen to.

Nice harmonies.

But I'm not touching those lyrics with a nine foot pole! (No, that's not a double entendre!)

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
