We used RealTracks on our newest addition to our CD in the studio, great work PG!

http://tbdb.ca/?page_id=144

I used SONAR X3 Producer Edition and various plugins on the RealTracks, lead vocals and two backing harmony vocals, plus 13 "gang" vocal tracks! eek

Cheers,
Les!

Sociable
©2013 L. Bolen/B. Couttie (SOCAN)

You're downtown and have nothing to do
Just come on down for a real good time
We'll be hangin' with Brad and the Boys on Friday night
The lights are down and the keg's on ice
And everybody's dressed up all nice
We're feelin' good it's a sociable kind of time

Chorus

So if you get your party shoes shined, and if Turner's on time
We can dance all night, and feel all right
With our glasses held high in the air
They gonna sing some real good ole tunes, everybody knows every word
Everybody grab your drink; hold 'em high in the air
1-2-3, SOCIABLE!

The good ole boys bellied up to the bar
The next one's well it's really not far
And turn it on, crank it up, turn it up, get on down
There's a biker song, a trucker song
They're singin' all the oldies all night long
The wheels keep turning on and on

Solo
Repeat ½ Chorus

It's not just another song about drinking beer
It's a song that says I wish you were here
C'mon, c'mon, shake your booty
Hey now mama, hey little lady
I said hey, I said hey hillbilly
Hey, hillbilly, one more then that's it!

Repeat Chorus

Les,

Welcome! This sounds great. Terrific vocals! Good mix.

A fun song - love the style you've done there...

Nice leads, too... (that very last one cuts off pretty quick - would be nice if it rang out to a long fade..)

Look forward to more!

Great performance! The arrangement and mix is good, but the vocals really sell the song.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Les, Now that is a good time party song. Nice job on the vocal. The mix sounds great. The editing on the lead guitar is well done. That lead guitar is perfect for the song

and sounds great. I agree that in the outro it cuts off short. Sometimes you can add multiple tracks of regenerated solos and splice them together so you don't have to

just settle for what is there in the first generation of the soloist track. I always say endings are the hardest part of BIAB. I have started to look at the endings first to make

sure they sound as natural as I can make them and then work on the rest. Anxious to hear more of your work, Good Job. Tom

Thank you everyone for your nice comments; it's inspiring!

Yes, I wish the guitar player was myself, but it's Brent Mason, so I didn't want to change what he did too much, I did actually change one note he played in Melodyne, taking a sustained note up a fourth, and I suppose I could extend out the final note on the end in the same plugin...

Thanks again everyone, I'm just trying to make the tracks into a backing track for our band now...hmm...what to leave in and what to take out...?

Les

Hi Les,

Now that's how musical confidence sounds! The energy of your song is incredibly infectious. Great song, great arrangement, brilliant production and performance.

I'm late to the party but I'm sure glad I didn't miss this one.

Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
