As promised, here's the other jazz tune (from 3 years ago I believe) that I did in BIAB prior to computer crash, etc. All I have is this take. I'm digging through files to see if I can find the individual tracks or old BIAB file on a backup hard-drive somewhere. Kiss Me, Chicago Thanks for listening!

Hi Michael,
Ah, loved it!!!! Makes me want to light one up ... and I don't even smoke!!!
That trombone lead was terrific. And then when the bass goes into a 4/4 walk, that was sweet. We also loved the two-bar modulation near the end.
This would definitely get the Lounge Lizards trolling the crowd. The soft strength of your voice wasa very pleasant treat. I could hear Steve Tyrell doing a splendid sing on this, but your voice is a real nice fit. Thanks for posting this gem!
Alan & Di
(PS: we lost over a dozen tracks when a folder we had them in corrupted during a computer crash. We can empathize with your frustration ion that matter! All we have is the final, stereo mix.)

Another nice tune!! I can tell you've listened to a lot of standards by your style of writing-romantic and poetic. Very nice stuff! Take care. Greg

Thanks Greg!! Definitely enjoy the old standards, and much of the music they 'sprouted' from.
Thanks again, and you take care as well!!

Alan and Di-
Glad you liked it. Thanks so much for taking such a careful listen and for the kind words. Appreciate them! Funny, as far as vocals go, I'm not overly happy with this tune, but just goes to show how we are our own worst critics. ;-)
Here's to the hope that we come across our original tracks!!
All the best,
Michael

This would have been a great tune for Sinatra, outstanding writing and the trombone is superb in this thanks for sharing! You definitely need to pitch this to some music folks. It would be great for a movie as well; thanks for sharing!

Nicely written. I especially liked how you bounced new ways to describe Chicago off of current/past descriptions of Chicago. And the "again" on the end.

Your vocal style reminds me of someone but I can't think of his name, no matter, as it fits the song perfectly. The song is superb.
I look forwrd to what elase you do

This was fantastic! Love the jazz styling you have here.
Super trombone solo, vocals, lyrics, chord progression, and mix!
I can see Harry Connick Jr. singing this.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thanks MarioD! Appreciate the kind words. It's always nice when someone can 'hear' someone else singing the tune as well. That means the vibe is good and Connickesque ;-)

Enjoyable listen and everything mixed well. I like your vocals on this and the trombone solo. Pitching - Harry Connick Jr. - I'd have a CD off to AI today....

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
