Hi there. This is the last of my FAWM songs and about the only one i don't want to develop further. Suggestions for improvements always welcome and appreciated of course. https://soundcloud.com/tuigorge/scooterUsed the style CTRTSEC - Gritty elect country pretty much as is. Dropped one guitar track to keep it simple. Drums - Nashville swing 8. Bass - RT 539 Piano - RT 1550 Guitar - RT 974 Guitar - RT 977 (removed) 98% done in RealBand. Tiny bit in Biab. Was going to have Scooter turn out to be a person at the end but got tangled up with gender (would need a female singer or a rewrite so just left it as is. a cat song) Scooter Scooter gives me cuddles as he sits here on my knee Scooter purrs and bites my toes he's everything to me Scooter eats dry biscuits never drinks green tea If he should leave that would be a great cat-as-tro-phe He's got a furry coat he keeps on all the time He plays with mice and little birds and may be past his prime I love him and he loves me, yeah he's a friend of mine Scooter in my bedroom jumps up on the bed Scooter keeps me warm at night curled up on my leg Scooters whiskers tickle he rubs me with his head If he gets too amorous I take him down a peg He's got some funny habits I don't under-stand at all He likes to roll and wriggle on the carpet in the hall I love him and he loves me, he drives me up the wall Scooter in the moonlight like a lonesome clari-net Scooter wants to sing with me a loving long du-et Scooter is the coolest dude that I have ever met Yes he is my mountain man and I'm his little pet

Another classic RichMac song! I always like your songs, partly because they're so original and partly because you let your sense of humour shine through in the mix. It would indeed have been cool to make the audience think you were talking about a cat, then in the end reveal that you were talking about a person... but in this case your descriptive lines about the cat were so spot-on, it would have been a real challenge to believably swap species on the audience. However, your surprise ending in which you are the cat's pet was clever and believable! The rhyme and meter are very good, I didn't notice any forced syllables or "almost rhymes" Now we need a video of Scooter singing the song while you purr and bite his toes.

Cute, funny song. I enjoyed this a lot even though I fancy dogs more than cats.

As an admitted dog person.... I like this. Fun, well delivered and an effective choice of RT's and mix.
Nice one!

Rich, This is a fun listen. Reminds of a cat I used to have. Perfect choice of real tracks. Nice mix too. Tom

Thanks Pat. Ha ha. Scooter can get very bossy. (wish i had your talent for writing such original comments!) Cheers.
Thanks Guenter. This was a quickie. Well one day is quick for me. And fun to do. Cheers.
Thanks Floyd. I enjoyed making it! The hardest thing is resisting putting in more Real Tracks. They are so easy to add. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it Charlie. Dogs are more demanding but nicer. Cats just walk away once they've been fed. Cheers.
Thanks to J&B for having a listen. Your opinion is appreciated. Most of my life I've had a cat. Must have had a dozen over the years. Cheers.
Yes Alyn and it doesn't help when they sit on the keyboard either! I do indeed wonder who owns who at times. Cheers.
Thanks Tommy. Nice comments. I like cats because they are not Politically Correct. Scooter brought a live rabbit into the bedroom at 3am once. Had a hell of a time catching and getting rid of it.Cheers.

Love the line "If he should leave that would be a great cat-as-tro-phe"
Nice play on the words; this will be a cat lovers dream song; thanks for sharing!

Cute song.
Your vocal sounds like you're having fun, singing and with the lyrics, so a smile is easy. I think you used the rests well. They remind me a little of the drum roll you use to hear immediately after a comedian hit the punch line.

Thanks Robert. Couldn't resist the cat-as-tro-phe. Best wishes.
Thanks Jim. The hits got added later with some slight chord changes. The songs are never really finished are they. Cheers.

Hello Rich,
such an original and funny song! We like that typical sound of your voice (almost reminds us of Louis Armstrong at times, haha

Hi Rob and Anne-Marie. Thanks for that comment. I grew up listening to Louie Armstrong. The master of phrasing and expression. Maybe when I get older my voice will go more gravelly like his! Cheers.
Thanks Joe. A bit of fun. Cheers.
Thanks Lawrence. Scooter and my clarinet playing have a lot in common. Cheers.
Thanks Greg for such nice comments. Wow 3 cats that's a handful! Cheers.

LOL! Can't help but love Scooter what a fun song.
"If he gets too amorous I take him down a peg" - sounds my cat and his love bites. Ouch.
Sounds great to me Rich. Enjoyed it very much.

Hi Bob. Glad to provide a bit of fun. Thanks for the comment. Cheers.
Thanks Josie. Shirley-Louise and I both think Scooter is tops but we have thin skins and his claws are sooo sharp and we bleed easily. Cheers.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
