El Baile De La Flor

I started to write this song in February 2015 for a remix contest for Enrique Iglesias’ Baliando. The core of the song became so good that my friends asked me if I can make an instrumental out of it. So I started to work for the instrumental in March and a month later the song was ready.
Almost every track in this song is created from Band In a Box, except drum loops and cymbals. The following real tracks were used:
- Bass, Baby, Bolero, #1901
- Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm BoleroMelodic, #1905
- Real Drum – Salsa Bolero
- Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm Bolero, #1903
- Guitar, Electric, Soloist SmoothJazzCool (Bluesy), #1306
- Trumpet, Bossa, #479
- Guitar, Electric, Soloist SambaFusionCarlos [Double Time], #1647
- Sax, Tenor, Soloist BossaSlowJack, #2411
I arranged the tracks in Samplitude music studio. On top of the stock plugins, I used Voxengo OldSkool Verb.

I hope you enjoy!

Ogi,

Welcome to the Showcase! A magnificent entrance!

Beautiful song. Delightful arrangement. Perfect mix. Nice instrument choices - and nice trade-off of lead instruments. The song remained interesting from beginning to end.

Very enjoyable. Already listened a couple of times...

Very professional sounding. Look forward to more.

Hi Ogi,

Welcome to Users Showcase.

I completely agree with floyd. This is a spectacular entrance to the forum. Beautiful music that's arranged with pizzazz and elegance. Musicianship sparkles everywhere!

For the life of me, I can hear no hint of BIAB anywhere.

It's great you dropped in.

All the best,
Noel

Great to have a song which further demonstrates the uniqueness of the BiaB system. This is really pleasant to listen to, well balanced.

A really nice listen.

Thanks for sharing. Great effort actually.

Best
Trevor

Wow! Thank you all for the nice words. I was working on it almost 2 months in total as I was paying attention to every note by aligning the parts, changing the pitch and length.

Though it is my first submission here it is not my first song that I create with BIAB. You can check the rest of my songs on my soundcloud channel. If you like I can create more threads smile

If you're curious, this is the remix (it sounds more like a cover to me) that I created initially: Bailando (Chillout Bossa Nova Remix)

Thank you once again!

Beautiful!! What's shocking is how melodic all of the solos are. Everything sounds tailored to the composition. Beautiful open, clear mix. I'm going to have to play with these tracks! Much enjoyed. Take care. Greg

That's a nice jazzy song - from your track selection it's a salsa bolero. You've put it together very sweetly.

Thanks! It is really great how BIAB is built and the tools it has to produce a song without a single musician around smile

Thank you, Greg! I wish to mention that the solos are not coming this way out of BIAB. I had to change some notes, also to combine different part of the performances in order to achieve this at the end. But what really matters is the source material, and it is really great indeed.

Thanks, Pete! I haven't thought of it, but you're right. Salsa bolero it is. I just go through many soloist parts and select those as they fit the best to each other.

Like Greg said it is amazing the degree to which
you managed to hold the melodic theme with
the RT's. No doubt that took a LOT of work
and it paid off. Everything seems seamless
and the mix is perfect. I much enjoyed it.
Congrats!

Hello Ogi,

Usually we are not too keen on instrumentals, but this is interesting from start to finish!
Well done.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
